Positive pregnancy test, no period, all the signs...should I go to the doctors?

So we've been trying for a baby and this month my period hasn't come, so I did a test which was positive. Like with my other two I haven't felt like wine or too much coffee, but have wanted lots of fresh fruit like kiwi and oranges. So I'm quite sure that I'm pregnant. When should I go to the doctors?

With my first I saw Dr straight away as I thought they would want to see me. He just went thru the lists of don't eats and told me when to book with MW etc.

With my second (well third as first turned out to be twins) I rang receptionist - explained that I was pregnant and asked if I could book straight in with MW w/o seeing GP which I did.

My Dr didn't even check if I was preg (I even had a nice little pot of wee in my bag for him). He just took my word for it.

Congratulations

It seems to vary from practice to practice, so phone and check the procedure at your GPs. Mine won't let you book in with the MW unless they have done a pregnancy test.

I've always seen the doc at about 6 weeks prior to MW booking anytime between 9 and 13 weeks.

And the sooner you are on the system, the sooner you get your dating scan IME.

Thank you for your replies. I don't think dh will really believe it until I've been to the doctor, although this will be dc3, so I'm quite keen to go so we can start telling people. I will check at the practice and see if I can go straight to mw.
Very happy happy happy.
