Bleeding after miscarriage

Hi all,

I just wondered what people's experiences have been of bleeding after a natural miscarriage. I miscarried 17 days ago naturally and I am still bleeding lightly (only on wiping, not enough to use pads)

It is driving me insane as I want to try again as soon as possible but I am also still testing positive on a pregnancy test (faint line).

I had a scan after the miscarriage and they confimed that all products of pregnancy had gone so I think this light bleeding is normal just going on longer than I expected and hoped.

Hi @babysunshine,
Sorry to hear about your loss.
I think it will depend how far along you were. I lost a baby at 8 weeks and was bleeding for almost 3/4 weeks. After bleeding stopped I ovulated a week later.
Wishing you all the luck if you decide to try again xx

Hi @Jomum2020

Thankyou for your reply. From my LMP I was 12+6 when the miscarriage happened but things had stopped developing way before that but obviously with my body still thinking I was pregnant the lining of the womb etc was all still representative of a pregnancy that far on apparently.

Did you use pregnancy test afterwards to know when your hormones were back to normal?

I can't use ovulation tests at the moment as they are showing a false positive every day because of the pregnancy hormones.

Think I will continue to do the pregnancy tests and hope for a negative soon so I know that my body is back to normal.

Yeah I kept testing till it went negative then I still had maybe... 5 more days of bleeding afterwards! If it’s light now you are going in the right direction!
