Mushrooms during pregnancy

Hi,

Are mushrooms okay to eat during pregnancy? I know they shouldn't be eaten raw, but how about cooked? I guess I'm just a little cautious because mushrooms are a type of fungus at the end of the day.

I'm going to a fancy restaurant for a work Xmas lunch and their menu has dishes including various types of mushrooms (chanterelles, wild mushroom, shiitake etc)

Hi!
As far as I'm aware, cooked mushrooms are absolutely fine and are thought to have some benefit to baby. I had some last night anyway!

Since when were raw mushrooms dangerous to eat during pregnancy? Follow the NHS advice if you’re in the UK, as advice from other countries differs.

Mushrooms are fine in pregnancy, I adore to add them to different foods. I think raw ones should be washed carefully due to mud on them( they grow quite near the ground), but didn't hear a not eat them.

I personally don't like them raw and find it's safer to cook them.

Mushrooms are fine. I love mushrooms, I eat them all the time! I hate raw veg in general so I’d always cook them but it’s not a food you need to be concerned about!
