Hi all,

I am only 5 weeks pregnant (due 24th of July) with baby number 2! All went well last pregnancy (appart from horrific morning sickness from 6 - 23 weeks)

I have seen a few old threads with Ladies asking this question but would be nice to have some reassurance from other Mums to be on how terrifying the wait to 12 weeks is!

I'm so scared something goes wrong every time I go to the loo I'm checking for blood and any pains in my abdomen i feel I'm convinced something bad is happening 😭 x

hermionelodge Sat 23-Nov-19 21:43:28

Hello! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I got my BFP this evening, my EDD is 28th July! First pregnancy for me and I am terrified.....! I have a fear of being sick so very anxious about that! And now I know I'm pregnant, every twinge I feel makes me worried something bad is happening. It's like they have intensified since I took the test... so worrying! Wishing you all the best with your journey, hopefully your sickness is not as bad this time round!

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 21:54:03

Tonight? Wow that's AMAZING news congratulations! They might even share a Birthday at this rate lol. Pregnancy, Childbirth and Parenthood are the most magical but terrifying experiences in life but totally worth it. So good to have someone to talk to who is at the same stage of pregnancy and has the same worries. My 12 week scan is the 10th of January but I'm so tempted to go for a private scan at 6 weeks. The first trimesters is so long. Once you start showing and feeling baby move it's a lot easier! Wishing you all the best with your Pregnancy also.

hermionelodge Sat 23-Nov-19 22:04:23

It feels surreal! I came off the pill in August and we were just seeing what happens... felt a bit odd yesterday and today and also realised period was late so just nipped out and got test... totally shocked! I was going to have a glass of wine tonight but new I wouldn't enjoy it without first checking! Haha, they could well do. It will be nice to have someone to check in with as we go along smile Yes I was thinking the same about the scan, dp and I have though about getting one the weekend before Christmas so we can tell our families on Christmas day with a scan picture. We also want to put our mind at ease, I feel this is going to be very long and very worrying. And difficult to keep secret this time of year! I'm known for my love of fizz at the Xmas night out with work so hiding this is going to be tricky. At the same time you just want to tell everyone because it's so exciting!

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 22:18:04

I did my test last Saturday I just had a feeling i was pregnant again. I told my DP and he sent me off to Asda for a test and the BFP showed up almost straight away. I've got a night out in Carlisle next Friday I'm not looking forward to doing that sober Haha! Nevermind the Works Xmas Party everyone is going to wonder why I'm not drinking! We've told my Best Friend my Parents and DP's Parents. It's so difficult not to spill the beans! Think that's why I'm also a bit scared because a few people know. The Scan before Christmas is a wonderful idea it's honestly such a relief just to know everything is well.

hermionelodge Sat 23-Nov-19 22:32:21

It's weird how you can just sense something has changed! Very exciting though. Oh I feel for you, I can't remember the last time I stayed sober on a night out.. I have little patience for drunk people when I'm not on their level haha. I guess it's a good thing though that you do have lots of support around you just now. And also if anything was to go wrong (which hopefully it won't) then these are probably the people you would seek comfort in also. I think we might tell a close friend but not until another week or two. I feel like it's not real yet, that I will wake up tomorrow and AF will be here. Yes definitely, every day is going to drag until we can have a scan and see everything is well. Is there a big gap between your last pregnancy and this one?

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 22:48:20

Good idea to tell someone else close to you! It's so hard not to shout it from the roof tops! It will sink in eventually and before you know it you'll have a bump and feel those magical kicks! Please let me know how your Scan goes? Also how your symptoms are? I'm feeling nauseous in the mornings and evenings, got strange stretching and cramps, heightened sense of smell and I'm super tired but seem to have insomnia from the worry! I think I'm going to book in for one at 8 weeks (13th Dec) with my DS I had a scan at 6 weeks because I had a little bleeding was a tiny amount but they did it just to be sure so after seeing his tiny little heartbeat (he looked like a seahorse) I felt so much relief! Also had a private 4D Scan at 26 weeks was incredible to get a proper glimpse at him! My DS was born on 02/11/17 so he has only just turned 2! So there will be 2 years 9 months between them all going well! I didn't want to wait too long and have a huge age gap plus I want him to have a little friend and hopefully they are close.

surreygirl1987 Sat 23-Nov-19 22:50:37

Hello! I'm 6 weeks with my second baby. I am definitely less terrified this time, but still.a little nervous. It doesn't help that the 12 week scan is after Xmas!! I have thought about booking a private scan just before Xmas (we did an early scan with my first baby) but they're just so expensive
..! I might feel.more reassured when I hear the heartbeat at the 8 week midwife appointment I guess.
Anyway, congrats to you both! I'm dreading morning sickness; I have a very lively one year old so keeping up with him is exhausting at the best of times!! I don't know why I thought two under two was a good idea...

Mumtoone39 Sat 23-Nov-19 22:56:47

Hi and congratulations all. I am 5 weeks today - just tested today. Baby number 2 , bit of a surprise as was starting to think it wasn't going to happen trying since January and turned 40 in August. The nausea has already hit this week, had thought it was flu as rest of the house was sick this week but it seems not!

Mumtoone39 Sat 23-Nov-19 22:58:01

My due date is also 24th July by my calculations

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 23:03:06

Aww massive congratulations! What age is your first? I'm not looking forward to the sickness part it does feel like the flu! Last time I was in bed almost the whole time! I definitely won't be bake to do that this time around with a toddler! Are you anxious at all? I don't know why I'm so scared. I don't think I was this worried last time confusedx

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 23:10:48

Also just been to the loo and noticed in the mirror I have a faint linea nigra already x

Mumtoone39 Sat 23-Nov-19 23:17:33

My first is 4. I am a bit anxious too will be good to get the 1st scan over.

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 23:21:10

Amazing! Keep me updated on how your feeling and how your scan goes! I could talk about it all day since we can't announce it yet. X

JackGordonsMummy Sat 23-Nov-19 23:21:18

NishaaS123 Sun 24-Nov-19 00:06:51

I just got a positive today to my due date is 22nd july so terrified I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks before this so scared for this one 😭

hermionelodge Sun 24-Nov-19 00:07:26

I can't wait to get past the 1st trimester and experience the bump and movements. My symptoms so far are very sore boobs, a strong sense of smell, weird taste in my mouth and cramping. Currently the cramps are quite intense which is really worrying me.. can't sleep now. Seems to be very similar to you except the nausea, I'm sure that won't take long. Yes definitely, would love to hear about your early scan also. That's a nice age gap to have. I'm sure your DS will love having a little sibling.

Congratulations Surreygirl and mumtoone! I've found a clinic locally which does a private scan for £39, so not too bad. It's only day one of finding out and I'm in overdrive so definitely going for it. Sounds like I've been lucky with the nausea so far... I'm sure it will come soon. Although I'm worrying so much I want all the symptoms so I know everything's ok! I'm sure i may regret that haha. Wishing you both all the best with your journeys. Hopefully we all have lots of positive updates to share with one another

hermionelodge Sun 24-Nov-19 00:28:12

Hi Nishaa, congratulations on your positive. I have my fingers crossed for you that everything works out this time. I'm terrified and this is my first pregnancy so I can only imagine how worried you are. Try not to stress out, keep us posted here on how you are getting

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 07:37:05

@surreygirl1987 congratulations I must of missed your reply last night! I hope the morning sickness doesn't come to much for you. Having a 1 year old and being pregnant will be a challenge but totally worth it. I love a close age gap. I'd of had another one when my DS was 9 months if my DP would have allowed it Haha! I've been broody since he was like 2 weeks old!

Do they check the heartbeat at 8 weeks? I can't remember my mideife appointment doing it till after my 12 week scan but I'm in Scotland maybe different up here?

I get paid tomorrow so gonna book in for a 8 week scan on the 13th of Dec although might wait till the money as Friday the 13th seems a bit superstitious haha!

@hermionelodge I hope you managed to get some sleep! Reading the symptoms the cramping is normal at this point just your host moving around making room for baby! Just sp terrifying to feel. It's only been 2 years but I can't remember how I felt last time this early on appart from being sick! X

hermionelodge Sun 24-Nov-19 08:05:01

I did manage to eventually. Google.was definitely my friend last night haha. Took a lot of willpower not to keep running to the bathroom to check there was no bleeding! What a stress. Trying to stay calm and create a nice environment in there lol. I guess you go through such a range of feelings/emotions throughout your pregnancy that it will be hard to remember at every stage... unless it was horrific like the sickness. That will definitely dominate your memories! I am now just spending my morning googling what I can't eat, what I should eat, what vitamins to take.. I'm mentally exhausted already haha! X

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 08:16:44

Glad you got some sleep it was your first night it will get easier! In a way I guess it's good we have Christmas etc coming up I feel it will make December go faster and bring us closer to the 12 week mark!

When I was pregnant the first time my midwife gave me vitamins called "Healthy Start" they are the NHS ones so have all the supplements you need.

I bought them again last week from my local pharmacy they were only like £3! X

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 09:22:43

Hello everyone, congrats to all of you!
I'm 5+1 today with my 3rd. I had a chemical a couple of months ago so that's made me really anxious, so hoping this one sticks!

With both my previous pregnancies to term, I found I was worrying throughout the whole pregnancy, it didn't stop at 12 weeks for me! Part of the reason could be the MMC in my very first pregnancy which devastated us.

We haven't told anyone yet! The work Xmas party is going to be interesting 🤔

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 09:32:18

Congratulations @pottypotamus ! I'm so sorry to hear about your previous loss and Chemical Pregnancy! It's so unfair that these things happen to us! I wish there was an easier way of finding out if everything is going to be fine so we could enjoy our pregnancies without worry!

What age gap have you got?

Have you had any symptoms?

I know I've never been to a sober works Party I think I'll be leaving early this year Haha x

hermionelodge Sun 24-Nov-19 10:09:03

@jackgordonsmummy, thanks. We are away to the shops soon so I will have a look for those. Also going to buy some palmers and bio oil. I'm prone to stretch marks anyway so I doubt it will make a difference but worth a go.

Congratulations @pottypotamus! So sorry to hear of your loss and chemical. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. It is so worrying. I'm anxious anyway so I imagine I will be the same the whole of the pregnancy. Just got to try and make it to each stage. I think I will be worried for the rest of my life now haha. Yes I'm trying to work out how to go about the Xmas party too. It's so far away, if it wasn't I would just fake drink, but I'm not spending all that money on taxis when I could just drive. People will know instantly when I say I'm driving!

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 10:21:25

Thank you @JackGordonsMummy smile

My ds turned 5 in Sept and my dd is almost 19 months.

My boobs hurt on and off, I've been prodding them to check blush I've been nauseous on and off as well. But no other symptoms to speak of. I think I might book an early scan before Xmas.

Have you been to the doc yet? My previous experiences have been that they don't do much and I have to self-refer to midwives.

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 10:24:05

Thanks @hermionelodge
Wishing you all the best too!
I know what you mean about Xmas party. People will know straight away when I say I'm driving. Our party isn't too far away, just the next train over so I might just fake drink haha. I'll have to make sure I go to the bar on my own and insist on having a lemonade in a gin glass wink

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 10:28:35

Hope you find what you're looking for @hermionelodge grin

Aww thats lovely @pottypotamus a Boy and a Girl already hopefully you won't need to buy much stuff for the new addition then hehe!

It's the same at my surgery they make you self ref to the mideife I called last Monday and they gave me my 1st midwife app on the 20th of Dec then my 12wk scan on the 10th of Jan!

I'm going to gp for a private scan at 8 weeks (13th Dec) its £40 but I'd rather just know if everything is ok or notsad

You can get one a 6 weeks but I've seen a lot of people writing they didn't see a heart beat cos it was too early so had to go back so I think I'll try hold off to week 8. Are you? X

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 10:48:48

@JackGordonsMummy that's really good that your GP offers early scans, even though you have to pay. I think I'll book an early scan for just before Christmas, I'll be a nervous wreck waiting for 12 week scan!! I'll have to do a groupon thingy for the early scan and I think I'll be able to get one for about £40 as well.

Fingers crossed for all of us!!

Yes we have way too many boys and girl clothes, and just baby stuff in general, so hoping we won't have to buy much else smile

mywrencalls Sun 24-Nov-19 11:06:23

Hello everyone smile I'm just about 5 weeks along, I had my first positive test last Sunday, have been frantically reading anything and everything pregnancy related since then haha.

I'm 37 and this will be my second child, my first is 20 years old so I feel like I am a first time mum, it feels so strange!

No real symptoms yet, no nausea or cramping, boobs a little sensitive. Not too tired yet. Going to call GP's tomorrow and see how to book my first appointment.

Congrats to everyone!

AliasGrape Sun 24-Nov-19 13:07:03

Congratulations everyone.

I got my bfp yesterday - well I had 4 NFL’s I guess as I couldn't stop taking tests. I took a digital test this morning and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant, but I’m 4weeks +5 according to NHS calculator.

I’ve just turned 40, this is my first pregnancy, we’ve been trying a long long time but had decided to have a break from it all and didn’t really try very much this month. I thought I’d started my period earlier this week but it was a few spots then nothing. My periods can be very stoppy starty anyway so I really didn’t give it a second thought until yesterday when I saw the pregnancy test stash in the cupboard and thought I’d just do one (or 4).

I am terrified it’s not going to stick, I’m trying to put it to the back of my mind but can’t think of anything else. I’ve got lots of cramps and every twinge is making me think bad things are happening.

I’m weeing a bit more than usual and I definitely felt shattered last week and headachey, kept telling DP I thought I was coming down with something. I feel a bit queasy now since the test but might be in my head!

We’re getting married in 4 weeks and my hen do is in 2, talk about timing! Definitely going to be obvious I’m not drinking on my hen do but not much I can do about it. I’m doubly scared of it going wrong right before the wedding and then ruining that too. I guess just one day at a time is all I can do.

Sorry to ramble on! Nice to find people at a similar stage.

AliasGrape Sun 24-Nov-19 13:07:47

4 BFPs not 4 NFLs - fat thumbs sorry!

surreygirl1987 Sun 24-Nov-19 14:01:23

£40?!?! Please tell me where these scans are? If gladly pay £40 for one! I can't find any near me for less than £70, and even that's quite a trek. The only really local place to me seems to be £89. I had an early scan last time and I think I paid around £80 but now that I'm going to have two under 2, money will obviously be much tighter so I find that hard to justify! If anyone can find me a £40 early scan I'd be very grateful!!

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 14:55:02

Sorry I ment to write *go for a private Scan not "gp" my phone changes the spelling of some words soo annoying hmm !

Well I'm in Glasgow there are quite a few places here that do the Private Scans some are more expensive than other but the place I went when I was Pregnant with my Son was amazing and they are the one that charge £40. Deffo have a look on groupon they always have deals!

I had a nap today and have only just woke up and the morning sickness has struck I have terrible nausea but haven't ate since breakfast hoping once I've had something it will pass. This is the first time this pregnacy I've felt like I am gonna throw up envy

Congratulations on you BPF @AliasGrape and @mywrencalls I know how you feel its such a worrying but happy/ exciting time! Keep me posted how you sre all getting on it's actually so good to have a group of us who are due around the same time! Also who are missing the Xmas Party hehe! xxx

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 15:36:23

I'm in Herts and there are £39 scan in Watford.

Tashaa1 Sun 24-Nov-19 16:08:33

Congratulations on your BFP! I got mines last month I’m 6 weeks today grin me and OH decided to get an early scan at 10 weeks so we could see baby just before Christmas. Good luck on your pregnancy.

JackGordonsMummy Sun 24-Nov-19 18:38:09

Congratulations on your pregnancy too @Tashaa1 I hope your early scan goes well! X

surreygirl1987 Sun 24-Nov-19 19:20:22

@pollypotamus thanks - can you tell me what company that is with (e.g. babybond etc)? I'll have a look and see if there's one around here (I'm in Surrey), unless it's an independent place? Keeping my fingers crossed!

Littleseed2020 Sun 24-Nov-19 20:15:30

Hi all, huge congratulations to you all on your BFP’s! I got my first ever positive test Thursday morning and will be 5 weeks tomorrow. I’m so happy!!

I’m due on 27th July.

How are you all feeling?

TiptopJ Sun 24-Nov-19 20:23:48

Hi I'm 6 weeks with my 2nd. Congratulations OP and all the other posters. I'm less nervous about the pregnancy but nervous about the birth. I had a 3rd degree tear last time and I was advised that I would be considered for a c section if I wanted to. Also a bit worried about the age gap between my 2, I have a son who will be 2 and a half when this one comes along and I dont know how he'll adapt (or me for that matter) god do we ever stop worrying smile

macaroniandpizza Sun 24-Nov-19 20:27:59

I am 9wks on tuesday and had been booked in for a termination but i have cancelled it and im going ahead with the pregnancy. Its a mess though as the father is a friend who has subsequently got back with his dp after a long break and has told me to get rid. What makes it worse is i know hes been cheating on her for years (hes sent me stuff that proves) but i cant say anything about that or indeed this baby. So here i am about to be a single mum of 2

TiptopJ Sun 24-Nov-19 20:31:39

Wishing you lots of luck @macaroniandpizza. I might be doing this on my own too as my partner hasnt taken the news too well. Time will tell

macaroniandpizza Sun 24-Nov-19 20:33:50

Thank you tiptop have done it on my own with ds who is now 4 so that doesnt faze me but what would be nice is a bit of support from my family

Rosedale19 Sun 24-Nov-19 21:29:03

My due date is 24th July too! I’m considering an early scan, I don’t think I could wait until after Christmas I just want to know everything is okay smile

Liverbird77 Sun 24-Nov-19 21:49:23

I am four plus four with pregnancy number two.
It is so exciting, but I am also anxious. We'll be having the nipt test, but it cannot be done until week 10.
My little boy is 11 months old so, if all goes to plan, I'll have my hands full with two under two!

HairsprayBabe Sun 24-Nov-19 22:54:25

Hi can I join? Due date is about 26th July by my maths.

Found out I was pregnant last week - bit of a surprise... was on the pill but missed one on our wedding night last month when I left my overnight bag at home blush didn't think anything of it, never even thought about MAP, was late so did a test and here we are blush

We were planning on TTC after Christmas so I could enjoy fizz and brie so it's just scooted us forwards by a few months!

pottypotamus Sun 24-Nov-19 23:12:00

They are called Hey Baby 4D and are offering an early reassurance scan for £39

JackGordonsMummy Mon 25-Nov-19 09:20:30

Hi everyone congratulations on you BFP ! I booked my early scan for the 13th of Dec was so tempted to do it on friday cos I'll be 6 weeks but seen so many horror stories that it was too early to see a baby or heartbeat and thst would freak me out more! I'm starting to feel more and more "pregnant" ! I'm sorry to hear of the trouble you're facing @macaroniandpizza and @TiptopJ but the love you have for the tiny human growing inside of you is enough to get you through! X

Joantrying Mon 25-Nov-19 11:12:36

I’m hoping someone maybe able to help me on this thread. I found out I’m pregnant 5 weeks, due on 29th July 2020. I’ve had two previous miscarriages and then I’ve bleed for one day with this pregnancy can’t get a scan until 7 weeks. Pregnancy tests still showing positive. Have any of you had this before just want to know if everything is okay?

Littleseed2020 Mon 25-Nov-19 16:07:32

@Joantrying oh gosh how awful dor you, I’m so sorry to hear that. Have you registered your pregnancy yet? If so, call the midwife/hospital team - I had an email when I registered mine about calling with any problems under 18 weeks. Do you have a number like that you can call? Did you have a lot of pain? And sorry to ask, but was it a lot of blood? Constant all day or spotting??

Joantrying Mon 25-Nov-19 16:17:03

@littleseed2020 no not registered it yet as I was expecting the worse but now I’m not so sure. There was a lot of blood and it was red, but no pain so very different from my previous miscarriages. It was constant but only need to change pad twice (sorry if TMI). I called EPAU but they said as the bleeding has stopped nothing for them to do and just need to wait for scan. I did ask about blood test but they said there was no point. I thought it would have been useful to see if HCG was going up. Any advice would be greatly received

Littleseed2020 Mon 25-Nov-19 16:19:37

What a horrible place you are in and that advice isn’t very helpful at all is it!! I’m so sorry I don’t have any advice, I just don’t know. I feel for you, I can’t imagine how awful that must be. I have read that pregnancy tests would remain positive for quite a while so that won’t really help.... do you have any pregnancy symptoms at all that are still there?

mywrencalls Mon 25-Nov-19 17:21:47

@Joantrying My sister had a big bleed at 7 weeks and 10 weeks, she also felt a large clot each time. Baby was fine. She didn't have any pain or anything, and the bleeding lasted about a day (bright red blood) xx

AliasGrape Mon 25-Nov-19 17:29:04

@Joantrying I’ve got everything crossed for you, what a horrible time you’re having.

I wish I had some advice, I’m at the exact same stage as you, NHS calculator says due 29 July, and to be honest just waiting/expecting the same due to my age don’t think my odds are that good. I’ve never been here before though so not sure what to advise - have you taken the clearblue digital test at all? Maybe you could retest in a week and see if the number of weeks pregnant has gone up? I don’t know how reliable a measure that is though.

Joantrying Mon 25-Nov-19 18:27:27

Thanks for the messages I really appreciate it. I guess it’s just a waiting game. I took digital test at the weekend that said 1-2 weeks waiting until Saturday to test again with clear blue. I’ve done the odd cheap test in between still showing as pregnant

pottypotamus Mon 25-Nov-19 19:11:53

Sorry to hear you're going through a rough time. Any chance you can get your gp to refer you for bloods or an earlier scan?
I went to my gp when I was about 6 weeks with my ds and because of my history with MMC and early MC, referred me for a scan straight away.

Dimples81 Mon 25-Nov-19 20:22:50

Cautiously joining u guys. Blood test confirmed pregnancy but also had 4 days of bleeding. Waiting for results of second bloods to see if numbers are up/down xx

Dimples81 Mon 25-Nov-19 20:24:29

D.D. coming up as 22/7/2020 at mo

HairsprayBabe Mon 25-Nov-19 20:30:53

flowers for every one going through difficult starts I had a miscarriage many years ago from an unplanned pregnancy so I am still worrying.

Have to go to the drs with a pot of wee tomorrow as they don't trust home tests - not sure how long it will take to get my first appt.

Obviously as was unplanned I hadn't been taking folic acid so I am worried about that too.

Symptoms at the minute are incredibly sore and sensitive nipples and being dog tired. I have felt a bit sicky at points but I'm not sure if it is hormones or because I am worrying!

pottypotamus Mon 25-Nov-19 21:33:53

Good luck with both of your tests tomorrow!! xxx
@Dimples81 @HairsprayBabe

HairsprayBabe Mon 25-Nov-19 21:59:51

Does anyone know why they don't just book you in with a midwife instead of sending off wee for a pregnancy tests - every thing on the NHS website says that a false positive is vanishingly rare so why waste time and resources on doing lab urine tests confused

They could always just get you to poas in the Drs anyway...
Just seems a bit pointless to me I guess

TiptopJ Mon 25-Nov-19 22:03:29

Is anyone else starting to get a bit of nausea/sick feeling? I had it quite bad with my first but I get it in the afternoon and evening. I'm also getting hungrier every day too, learnt my lesson last time, resist the greggs!

louisepx Mon 25-Nov-19 22:50:27

I'm jumping on smile!❤️ I'm 5+5 today ... two previous miscarriages at the start of the year . Suffering with severe anxiety and panic attacks during this pregnancy . I'm so worried sad I've had lot stronger symptoms this time which I'm hoping are all positive .. sickness, gone off foods, super tired, restless legs occasionally, wet down below ( sorry) but the ones that are worrying me are cramps and back ache. I'm having to sleep with a hot water bottle. They come and go& aren't constant but just feels like period pains. Read they are normal but with my history they make me think the worse. Anybody else have them?
Thinking of everyone who has said they've had bleeds and fingers crossed for you all xxxxx

pottypotamus Mon 25-Nov-19 23:44:19

Sorry to hear about your MC @louisepx 💕

I am very anxious too! Glad there are places like these where we can come and all you ladies know exactly what I'm talking about when I say I run to the loo just to wipe and check or poking my boobs to see if they're sore blush

Congrats and wishing you all the best with this pregnancy xx

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 08:43:37

I am so sick this morning envynot envy gagged brushing my teeth and generally feel very green about the gills

I thought it would be too early to feel this rough is anyone else feeling grotty?

mywrencalls Tue 26-Nov-19 09:36:37

@HairsprayBabe ...I'm bang on 5 weeks, I still feel great but I know from experience it will probably hit me like a tonne of bricks next week. I'm dreading it, it's actually giving me anxiety. The sickness takes over your life sad

Currently just trying to enjoy every day where I'm feeling good

hermionelodge Tue 26-Nov-19 09:43:42

Congratulations to everyone on the BFPs! Sorry to hear about those having bleeds and past mc's.

I'm now 5 weeks today and it feels like a new milestone. Just taking each day and week at a time. My midwife won't see me until 8 weeks so that seems ages away!!

@HairsprayBabe that's not good on the sickness although I'm actually wanting more symptoms.. so far it's just cramping, sore boobs and backache which just makes me panic that everything is going to go wrong! Although I'm terrified of being sick so i don't actually really want that 🙄

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 10:07:48

Just dropped my wee off at the doctor's, the fresh air helped a bit with feeling sick, actually have to do some work now - although I WFH so can take it easy and still be in PJ's etc.

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 10:09:46

I also have really sore nipples not boobs just nipples like someone has taken a cheese grater to them

I was on the pill so my maths could be totally wrong and I could be a further ahead than I think... I don't know

memh Tue 26-Nov-19 10:13:00

Hi All. Congratulations everyone! I too found out a couple weeks ago that I am pregnant with my first. Six weeks now. We are so excited, but My partner has gone into full on proctor mode 😂 I know he's worried that something might happen. Neither of us have told our families yet, we have both just suffered losses recently so don't want to tell anyone until we have been for a scan. Would you suggestion getting the early scan to put his mind at ease? The only person I've told is my best friend, we've been friends for nearly 20 years and she did not react well, she asked me if I wanted to ruin my life! So naturally been very upset by this and put off telling other friends now!

Liverbird77 Tue 26-Nov-19 10:15:18

Anyone pregnant for the second time - do you feel different this time?
I am five weeks on Thurs and I don't feel as rough a as I did with ds1... yet, anyway!
I've a feeling it is a girl, although we won't find out until our nipt test at 10-11 weeks.
We genuinely aren't bothered whether it is a boy or girl, it is simply a feeling I have.

greywoollyjumper Tue 26-Nov-19 10:17:51

Can I join the thread too? Got my BFP on Friday and due 29th July. Baby no 2 and definitely feeling more nauseous this time round. Not looking forward to all the Christmas parties!

mywrencalls Tue 26-Nov-19 11:05:37

I just called my GP's for a booking in appointment, she couldn't get me in until I'm 10 weeks... Will this be enough time to get my nuchal scan and combined test sorted?? I've read it's better to do them at the 12 weeks mark. Now wondering if I change GP's so I can maybe get a booking appointment sooner confused

JackGordonsMummy Tue 26-Nov-19 11:06:46

Hey everyone new I'm so sorry to hear about the bleeding and miscarriages😭🥺

I'm pregnant with baby number 2 I am getting more cramps/ stitch like pains. Feels like my uterus is stretching maybe because it had been stretched before? The pains are freaking me out but they come and go and there is no blood.

My breast are rock hard and agony and feeling more and more nauseous.

I was so ill the first time but not till 8 weeks with sickness so still got a couple more weeks to see if I'm going to be as sick.

I can't wait for my early scan on the 13th just to make sure everything is ok so far! It's honestly such a worrying time! X

JackGordonsMummy Tue 26-Nov-19 11:07:39

Ment to say can't remember feeling these type of cramps 1st time around x

AliasGrape Tue 26-Nov-19 12:07:56

I’m sorry to hear about previous losses too. And hope those who have had bleeds are doing ok flowers

I genuinely can’t think about anything else. I too am going for a wee and a wipe every half hour just to see if there’s any blood. I’m getting a lot of discharge (sorry tmi) so every time I feel that I’m convinced it’s blood.

I also feel the same as hermione in kind of wishing for a bit of nausea/sickness as that would make it real somehow! My boobs are a bit tender and I’m getting back ache and cramps/ stitch like pains but to be honest they scare me because they feel like a period coming. I also need to pee a lot and have been burping like a right minger!

I’ve not contacted the doctors yet. I’m only 5 weeks today based on LMP. Because I know when I ovulated/ conceived I know that will be 3 weeks on Thursday. So I feel like if I can get to then or even the weekend then I can phone the doctors.

I’m tempted to book an early scan around 8 weeks but that will be right before our wedding. On the one hand it would be nice to relax and be hopefully reassured but on the other hand if it’s bad news it will just ruin the day. Not sure what to do for the best.

Littleseed2020 Tue 26-Nov-19 12:52:15

Hey @aliasgrape congratulations! I feel exactly the same and have done ever since I found out. I feel less pregnant than ever today it’s freaking me out so much!

I have the doctors today - not pregnancy related but I’m wondering if they may do a test. I both want them to and am petrified in case they find it negative.... which is madness because I haven’t bled since I found out last Thursday.

I just want some symptoms now lol.

You’re doing well holding off phoning, I phoned the moment they opened hahah!! X

AliasGrape Tue 26-Nov-19 17:09:00

Thanks @Littleseed2020
What happened at the doctors in the end?

I just did another pregnancy test blush It did look clearer/more definite than the ones at the weekend though. On the other hand I’m having really bad pains at the moment so that’s worrying me.

DP keeps trying to talk to me about other things and I just look at him like ‘what? That’s not to do with this pregnancy and my chances of keeping it, how am I expected to be interested in that?’ I know things will go much faster if I can just put it out of my mind for a bit but it’s constantly like ‘if I can just get through today/tomorrow/ get to the weekend’.

How is everyone else doing? How’s the sickness @HairsprayBabe

joantrying I don’t want to tag you in case you’re trying to take your mind off things but if you’re reading just know we’re thinking of you!

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 17:22:55

Felt sick untill about 2pm fell asleep woke up at about half 3 and now I'm not sure if I feel sick or if I am hungry!

I keep thinking of different foods but the thought of basically all of them is really unappealing.

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 17:24:10

I feel the same way re: only wanting to talk about baby stuff DH is like ah something about work I'm like hmm soz not interested

Dimples81 Tue 26-Nov-19 17:44:52

Second lot of bloods show a hcg rise so that is positive. I have to go to gp tomorrow to discuss the results officially and listen to their plan of action ie early scan coz of the bleeding and go from there. So still cautious here but slightly more positive than yesterday x

hermionelodge Tue 26-Nov-19 17:45:38

I have been the exact same. In the back of my mind constantly I'm just thinking about it. My backache is getting worse which is stressing me out. Just had my appt confirmed with the midwife and she can't get me in until 2 weeks tomorrow. I will be 7 weeks then providing everything goes well. Then we are going to have an early scan at 8 weeks. I don't know why but I have it In my head that 6 weeks will be a huge milestone and I will be so relieved when I hit that mark. I'm sure i will be relieved for all of 2 seconds then back to worrying and waiting for week 7 and then 8 etc 🙄

I did feel a bit sickly this afternoon, I found a packet of tuc biscuits helped..

hermionelodge Tue 26-Nov-19 17:59:52

@Dimples81 that's fab news! So glad you got a positive result and hopefully your scan won't be too long away so you can put your mind at ease.

AliasGrape Tue 26-Nov-19 18:14:08

@Dimples81 that’s great news, everything crossed for you!

I feel the same about 6 weeks for some reason @hermionelodge it does feel like a big milestone somehow. Also even though I’m 5 weeks according to LMP I know I ovulated a bit late in the cycle (day 18) and this Thursday will be 3 weeks post ovulation so I’m a bit stressing about getting too, but it’s all just arbitrary really isn’t it? Until 12 weeks when I might relax a smidge but doubt it somehow.

I’m a bit ‘getting married in just over 3 weeks? Meh, wedding schmedding’ which isn’t good given there’s still lots to do!

Littleseed2020 Tue 26-Nov-19 18:15:07

@hermionelodge I also feel that I’ll feel slightly safer at 6 weeks and also have no idea why.... ANNNDD also agree I’ll feel safer for all of five seconds.

I’ve just been to the dr’s but not for pregnancy stuff, told nurse I was pregnant and scared etc hoping she would test for pregnancy (she had my wee sample!) but she didn’t. So I came home and did another home pregnancy test, my first test that isn’t a digital but it’s very clearly positive and I am relieved again .... but still nervous.

@Dimples81 it’s a really good sign that your hcg is rising but I understand that wait must feel like forever. Having never been pregnant before I never appreciates quite how alone expecting mothers are in very early pregnancy! Basically you’re on your own until about 10/12 weeks! Shocking really isn’t it?

I’m wishing all of you here so much luck for really healthy pregnancies xx

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 18:42:22

We have told my parents, DH parents and my best friend, I still feel really alone in it though I guess that's why boards like this are so useful - has anyone told anyone else?

I feel so much better than I did earlier but still not enjoying the thought of food. I think I will be living on cold things for a few weeks sandwiches sound ok and I just had some rice cakes with peanut butter, I had avo on toast at lunchtime but I am worried about eating so little

Littleseed2020 Tue 26-Nov-19 19:28:45

Are you taking vitamins? Can you handle some pure orange juice or some fruit or something? I may be wrong but from what I’ve read we don’t have to eat more until quite far into the pregnancy, but obviously you need your energy so try to make the few things you can stomach, good energy/vitamin sources.

We haven’t told anyone. It’s so weird !!!!

I’ve got a stomach ache and have done for about an hour ..... not felt anything at all until now so I’m feeling freaked x

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 19:47:41

I am trying to eat calorie dense stuff peanut butter, avocado, etc.
usually I am a veg fiend and don't bother with vits. Although I think we have some multis as DH is a salad Dodger good idea I'll start having them in the morning with my folic acid.
I wasn't planning on getting pregnant yet so I hadn't been taking it until we found out so I am worrying about that too.

AliasGrape Tue 26-Nov-19 20:25:56

I’ve told one of my sisters - she works at the doctors and knows all about our fertility struggles and treatment and I wanted her to confirm she could see the line on the test too grin Also because she’s the shoulder I’d be crying on if things went wrong anyway so I don’t mind her knowing early. My other sister I am text chatting with at the moment about other things and it’s SO HARD not to say anything but I’ve made some weird deal with myself that I can’t say anything to anyone else until that arbitrary 6 week mark, plus she’s got some stressful stuff going on and I’m trying to chat about that rather than be all ‘anyway here’s my news’.

DP wants to wait to tell his parents till ‘after the scan’ he’s thinking 12 weeks but in reality I’m not sure we’ll get that far before saying something as we see them every day (they look after our dog). Playing that one by ear.

He has just made me a HUGE dinner of sausages, mash, carrots, parsnips and peas with gravy (veggie sausage for me). I wolfed it down so think the slightly sick feeling I have now is due to volume of food and speed consumed rather than actual symptoms!

HairsprayBabe Tue 26-Nov-19 20:34:00

I will have to tell my two other closest girl friends mid December as we are off on a night out and my non drinking will be way too obvious in a group that small, only 4 of us

One has just been diagnosed with pcos after a year of trying so I think I will have to go round and tell her in advance - I'm not really sure what to do to be honest

Dimples81 Tue 26-Nov-19 21:39:09

Thanks ladies, hopefully will know more tomorrow

HairsprayBabe Wed 27-Nov-19 08:20:47

Feeling just as bad today if not worse than yesterday, worse I think actually sickness woke me up at about 5am and so now I am knackered as well as nauseous

Fingers crossed for you today Dimples

Dimples81 Wed 27-Nov-19 17:18:20

Scan tomorrow at EPAU but have been warned not to get upset if they don’t see anything as they think it will be too early . All the apps put me at 6weeks today but the doctors are saying it will be 6 weeks tomorrow x

AliasGrape Wed 27-Nov-19 18:51:48

Everything crossed for you tomorrow Dimples xxx

JackGordonsMummy Wed 27-Nov-19 19:19:26

Good luck @Dimples81 if you don't mind me asking when are you counting from? I'm desperate for a scan. I'm 6 weeks on friday if I count it from my last periods (18th of Oct) but I was ovulating on the 31st so think it will be from then so waiting till the 13th for my early scan. Fingers crossed for you and if it is too early I'm sure they'll bring you back next week x

pottypotamus Wed 27-Nov-19 20:40:03

Best of luck @Dimples81 for tomorrow 🍀
I'm hoping to get a scan for the weekend of 14-15 Dec. Just waiting to hear back from scanning place.

Dimples81 Wed 27-Nov-19 21:03:30

Thanks ladies. First day of last period, wasn’t tracking ovulation as wanted to not get to stressed about it all like I did a few years ago when trying. Was giving it until this month and had bought an Ava in prep .

hermionelodge Thu 28-Nov-19 07:27:43

Wishing you lots of luck today @Dimples81

Dimples81 Thu 28-Nov-19 07:55:02

Thanks @hermionelodge

HairsprayBabe Thu 28-Nov-19 11:17:11

Got my results back from the Drs official preggo now!

Got a booking in appt on the 18th of December that seems so incredibly far away I think I will have to go see the GP sooner though as my nausea and sickness is still awful literally had plain rice crackers first thing and brought them straight back up
I can drink water and keep it down but only in tiny sips, will ask if I can have avoline as it is OTC and safe and I have heard people swear by it on here

HairsprayBabe Thu 28-Nov-19 11:18:25
