Amandat85 · 16/10/2019 14:11

Hi ladies im currently 9 weeks pregnant and i feel like shit, hormones playing with my emotions, one week my heads in the toilet bowl the next im downing bread and melted cheese. Its my first pregnancy and didnt expect this to be honest i always imagined myself working out eating perfectly healthy and so far i just want to sleep all day. Any advice or is anyone experiencing similar symptoms.

There isn't really any advice other than to not worry too much, once you feel better you can try eat better. In the first trimester I lived on bread, crisps, potatoes, pasta and cheese. I tried with fruit and veg but honestly couldn't bring myself too. Once the sickness passed at 16 weeks I started eating better and felt less tired and like crap.

It’s proper shit. Brace yourself most of pregnancy Is shit unless you’re really lucky I think and ‘bloom’ 🙄. But it’s all worth it honestly! Just go along with eating rubbish. X

Think I ate pot noodles for 4 weeks and was in bed by 8pm every night, cried at small things I'd never normally notice. This all stopped about 10 weeks and never came back. They dont tell you that "morning sickness" messes with you, mind, body and soul. Appreciate its hard to believe but it really should get better soon for you.

I'm with you. Currently 7+5 and wasn't expecting nausea never had it my whole life. I expected sickness obviously but thought you just threw up didn't think k I'd feel like I'm on a rollercoaster after a three course meal every day without the throwing up.

I feel like a shell of a human being right now Confused

Yup, here too. I'm 13 weeks and nausea not away yet. Instead it likes to disappear for a day or two then come back just to really play with me. I'm constantly exhausted (especially running around after 3 year old) and also getting terrible headaches. Waiting for this magical week everyone talks about to come when it's all meant to disappear.
Had the smugness completely and utterly wiped off my face as other than being tired with my first pregnancy, I had no other symptoms 🤨 now got all this and a toddler to contend with - healthy eating and vegetable smoothies not yet high on the list.

I'm 22 weeks and still feel like this. It's my third pregnancy and being pregnant just doesn't agree with me. I can't physically eat any veg and if I don't feel sick, I've got horrific indigestion. Exhausted all the time. Can't wait for it to all be over.

I'm almost 14 weeks and have been on metoclopramide for the last month now as the relentless nausea & vomiting is literally debilitating! I feel for all you ladies going through the same thing...it can feel very lonely particularly when other women haven't experienced this. I keep hearing that 16 weeks is the magical time when everything will feel better...here's hoping 🤞🏻

I’m almost 9 weeks and feeling crappy. All I want to eat is toast and apples and so tired I could sleep for a week. (My toddler would never allow this)

I’m glad I came on this thread! I’m literally MISERABLE I feel sick all day everyday that I have literally forgotten what it was like to not feel sick!
I keep thinking about getting a burger from Five Guys but that will make me so unwell!
Cannot wait to wake up and not feel sick 🤢

Hello ladies....

Not to put the fear of God into anyone, but I'm currently on my second pregnancy. First time round I was (now looking back with clarity) quite rough. This time I genuinely thought I was dying. I had to stop work as I needed to sleep about 15-18 hrs a day. Didn't vomit as such, just a continuous "omg I'm going to throw up" and feeling horrendous. Told DH that if this was pregnancy as a slightly older mum than before, then there was no way I was going to cope with the child!

12 week scan rolled around. Sonographer looks over. "Have you been feeling very ill?.... Because it's twins!"

Confused

Report
sao81 · 18/10/2019 20:54

@Courtney555 this was my fear as twins run in both sides of the family! We had a scan at 6+5 and was told just 1 baby, so hoping that still stands at the 12 week scan!

@sao81

They don't run in either of ours, ever.

Hopefully you're "safe" as if they can see one at 6 weeks, I guess they could have seen two. Please come back and let us know though!

@Courtney55 don’t say that! One baby is enough!!

@courtney555 i could have written your first paragraph word for word. I also genuinely have thought I was dying this second pregnancy.
Had my scan today, just the one in there. Some little pickles just create as much havoc as two it seems!!
At 13 weeks I feel about 10% as ill as I did at 10 weeks by the way (which is still rubbish, but so much better)

I'm loads better now, approaching week 27, but still have mild nausea and gravitating back to the needing to nap every afternoon.

Would be really interesting to see if anyone else is a multiple birth though!

I’ve never been so ill in my life! Been vomiting every day from Week 6 and now currently just going into Week 14. I’ve had no respite whatsoever and I’m just bloody miserable. I’m not a religious person but I’ve been praying I’ll get better soon. I feel like I’m only just managing to stay alive! I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. It is all worth it in the end though for your LO so keep thinking about that horizon! This is my second pregnancy and I thought my sickness was bad with my first. Boy was I wrong😂

Bean2020 · 19/10/2019 11:35

@fluffymuggle I feel your pain! It really is the worst i've felt in my life, and all for something so wonderful...its hard not to let it get you down. Out of interest what did you have first time round? I hear so many rumours that the more sick you are the more likely it is to be a girl, but not sure if there is any science to this!? Wishing you (and all the other out there suffering) well xx

I can really relate to this, I thought I was going to be one of those women who embraced every moment of it! Instead I found the first 20 weeks or so really difficult, I actually only vomited around 18-19 weeks or so after I thought the sickness was supposed to be gone! For some it stays awful, luckily after 22 weeks or so things have looked up for me (I’m nearly 27 weeks now) and I’ve been feeling much better, just hoping this phase sticks around a bit longer. I know that seems a long way off for you but I found time started passing more quickly after my 12 week scan.

I could cry with joy seeing people going through the same sh*t as me 😭😂
Honestly each day I wake up I cant wait for the day to end so i can go back to sleep and not feel sick. Apart from when i wake up at 4am being sick but let's not talk about that 🙃

I've had it since 5+4 and got hospitalised at 6+5 and put on a drip. Still felt like utter crap. 8+1 today, I have been sick 6 times so far. But at least its not the 20x I was at 6 weeks 🤷‍♀️

I'm drinking so much water to try and keep me hydrated that my stomach is starting to turn even thinking of water.
I used to drink Pepsi max all day every day, now even looking at the cans in the fridge make me wanna die.

Cant wait for the '2nd trimester glow' 😂
Everytime my sister says 'oh no you look really green today!' I'm like thanks its ma preggers glow 😏😂
