We're having a boy, and we've gone for Sam (not Samuel- ick!) just plain old Sam.

What are your choices?

hayley2u Tue 14-Aug-07 14:48:16

pinkrangerstartstowaddle Tue 14-Aug-07 14:49:57

Having a boy- Tate

kyala Tue 14-Aug-07 14:51:01

Ooh we've gone for Erin or Lucy (I've got a certain pic in my head of baby's shape for Erin, if it's a large baby I think it'll have to be Lucy, I don't know why it's just the way my head is going LOL)
And Oisin (O-sheen) for a boy.

MrsMar Tue 14-Aug-07 14:55:39

Probably Luca (we're having a boy) not sure about other names.... dh really wanted Enzo so that might end up as a middle name.

mixedmama Tue 14-Aug-07 15:03:26

Dont know what we are having yet, but....

Ediz for a boy (middle name Candan - pron Jundun my dads name)

Ayla for a girl (middle name Emine pronounced like Eminem without the M - my grandmothers name)

Cazzybaby Tue 14-Aug-07 15:05:13

Lily Frances for a girly
Thomas Francis for a boy

Mixedmama I love Ayla!

mixedmama Tue 14-Aug-07 15:07:21

Cazzy - I love the way you have accomodated Frances / Francis - does it have special meaning for you?

RGPargy Tue 14-Aug-07 15:07:49

We're having a girl. We have chosen:

Ellie Rose

Cazzybaby Tue 14-Aug-07 17:45:14

Ellie Rose is so pretty!

Francis / Frances is my grandads name he has alzihmers so not sure if he will be here to see LO but I think its a lovely name. Also DP has a tradition of middle names beggining with F in his family!

mixedmama Tue 14-Aug-07 17:50:20

That is lovely Cazzy. Hope he will be around for you.

all my grandparents bar one maternal grandma have passed away thats why if I have a DD she will have my paternal grandmas name ass her middle name.

Cazzybaby Tue 14-Aug-07 17:57:38

I think its nice to use family names and names that have special meanings to you, the only problem is picking whose especially if you have a big family!

At present this LO is going to have 6 great grandparents! Pretty amazing really!

Stefka Tue 14-Aug-07 18:00:34

I think we are going for Jana (pronounced Yana) if it is a girl and Dareh if it is a boy.

PurpleLostPrincess Tue 14-Aug-07 18:10:17

We're having a girl and we're calling her:

Cerys Amethyst Grace Emmeline

If we were having a boy we would have called him:

Corbin Patrick

OOh they are lovely. I think we are going with Oscar for a boy and Esme for a girl, though ds1 has quite vehemenly expressed his absolute dislike for the name Esme and now dp is worried it will cause major trauma(!) so wants to change it!

hobbcat Fri 17-Aug-07 11:50:05

Lovely husband likes the random name of Torbjorn for a boy. We are not of scandanavian origin and it seems a bit OTT to me. (pro Torben) Sophie for a girl (maybe)

RGPargy Fri 17-Aug-07 11:52:20

Thanx Cazzy

Ellie is similar to my DP's mum's middle name, which is Ellen and Rose is my mum's middle name. We get to keep them both happy.

piggysgal Fri 17-Aug-07 12:17:36

We're having a little girl, and calling her Marianne.

designerbaby Fri 17-Aug-07 12:29:47

We're also having a little gir (is it my imagination or does there seem to be more girls than boys expected on here?

Anyway she's going to be Isabella Grace (Izzy for short)

She may also get my family name (which is Ford) in addition to our surname - although DP is being difficult about that at the moment... well, we'll see .

lizziemun Fri 17-Aug-07 13:29:28

If a boy Robert.

If a girl Alexandra.

Only just agreed, am 38 + 1 weeks.

CristinaTheAstonishing Fri 17-Aug-07 13:57:55

We're having a girl. On the short-list are: Penelope, Lydia, Alice, Beatrice, Isabella. DS keeps calling her Imogen but DH is definitely not agreeing to that.

skidoodle Fri 17-Aug-07 14:13:14

Oisín was my first word! It was the name of our dog at the time, but it's a lovely name and also my cousin's name.

Although we pronounce it a bit more like U-sheen since we speak Connemara Irish.

loopyredangel Fri 17-Aug-07 15:54:19

We are calling our little boy Jack Kailen

loopyredangel Fri 17-Aug-07 15:55:42

If we were having a girl we would have called her Maia Grace

GoodGollyMissMolly Fri 17-Aug-07 16:32:14

If we have a boy (which I think we are we have chosen Jack William.

If we have a gril we have chosen Erica May.
