awww. When ds was just born in Jan, how to save a life by the fray was just out and on the radio a lot, so we listened to it the night. now whenever i hear it i remember being all cuddled up in bed feeding him in the middle of the night

'sweet like chocolate' for DS, as when he was small, he would bop away to it. He found the CD the other day in a box in my bedroom, and has been playing it on his pc (he is 9 now lol)

Natalie Merchant's Wonder makes me think of dd2 - it almost feels like it was written about her.

Major Cheese Alert

(but bear in mind I was fully expecting DD not to survive the traumatic pregnancy and birth before you judge me)

I was 42+5 and still wasn't getting anywhere and feeling totally unbonded with the baby when Daius Colourblind came on the radio.

"nobody told me about your smile, nobody said you could be so beautiful, you're the light, you're the light when I close my eyes"

I was sitting in the car crying my eyes out to Darius FGS!!! But I suddenly realised, that the baby (DD) would have a smile and it all felt much much better!

whooops didnt read the thread before posting didnt realise you meant sentimental ones!!!!

i can rememeber being up in night with dd1-9 and she was screaming and The Verve came on bitter sweet syphony, and she went silent, and loved it from that day, - i used to play it all the time to stop her crying....

DD2-nearly 4. just loves the monster song and sings it non stop, she adds peoples names instead of the monster bit....
what's that coming over the hill is it a Mummy etc etc

so that song makes me think of her

You're Gorgeous by Baby Bird is ds1's song and You do Something to Me by Paul Weller is ds2's.
Also 2 Little Boys by Rolf Harris can bring a tear to my eye

"isnt she lovely" stevie wonder- was playing when dd1 born
"Because we want to" Billie Piper- cos dd2 used to think it said "cos I a tomato" and sing it really loudly
"For my Babies" Simply Red, makes me well up thinking of them all

Craig David's, Re-e-wind, when the crowd say 'BO LECKER' we'd hear from the back of the car from our 2 yr old DS1!

van morrison - into the mystic
Lone star - amazed
ronan keeting - friends in time (the first few lines)

theres a country song by a woman thats all about her little boy asking for his pocket money so she replies that for carrying him for nine months, the nights sitting up with him while he was poorly, the love she feels every time she looks at him etc etc ...no charge. Sounds dreadfully cheesy but it made me cry everytime I heard it while pregnant with DS

Pheebe, I know exactly what song you mean, my Dad used to play it all the time but I can't remember who sang it for the life of me!! (I'll watch this thread now in case somebody comes along who does...).

He also used to play 'But you love me Daddy' which was an old country song too...

As for my DC's, I used to sing them 'James Taylor - You've got a Friend' and also 'Extreme - More than Words'. My DD still holds out her hand for me to hold it as I'm singing that bit!

I'm crying now, what a lovely thread!!!
