at 33 weeks is it normal to feel so anxious that you are going to 'lose' the baby?

I think it's normal. I'm also convinced about that too, although I'm 21+2 and this isn't my first either!

I think its a natural fear that most pg women go through at some stage (if not most stages) of their pg.

Dont worry, you are normal!

I was like this all the way through. AND then when ds was born I was convinced he'd suffer a cot death

But it did get better as time went on.

I'm 27 weeks, and also feel the urge to keep poking at the poor thing to make it move! This is doubly irrational as my baby is v.lively generally, so no reason for me to think anything is wrong...

Despite this, before each MW appointment, I've managed to convince myself that she won't be able to find a heartbeat. My DP thinks I'm insane.

Be reassured it's very normal. I had all kinds of bizarre thoughts when I was pg with mine and I was incredibly anxious about them being ok. It used to go from one ailment to another but it all settled down after they arrived. I even remember having a really vivid dream that I had given birth to a puppy!

Spiderbaby - it is very normal to start panicking about movements etc. I got desperate towards the end of my pregnancy with DD1 that I rang the Antenatal Ward and asked them if they would induce me at 38 weeks because my nerves couldn't take the worrying anymore (DD1 was IVF baby, up until having her we had been trying for 7 years and both myself and DH were infertile - hence the panic over baby!). The midwife just laughed!

All will be fine!
