Maternity clothes, M&S?

Hello everyone.

Today is big shopping day, we are in England for the weekend for baby clothes shopping for our (unborn) twin boys but also some maternity clothes.

I normally love buying clothes in M&S as I like the classic style and find it super comfortable too. I really love their black shirts, jumpers and knitwear and dark blue/black jeans as well.
So I was wondering if they have a maternity section? Can't find a whole lot online, it seems like they have some things but many.

Do you have other recommendations?
I do like some of Next's, Debenhams and Dorothy Parkins clothing styles. Do they have nice maternity clothes? I don't have good experiences with Next's jeans though and I'm looking for maternity summer shirts and jeans.

I'm a size 16, which means it's unfortunately hard for me to find nice clothes in my own country. Unlike England they tend to only have sizes available for average weight people, otherwise you have to go into big women shops which are far more expensive and also lack fashion 🙁

Unless you go to bigger stores you might not find a whole lot actually stocked in the shops. I actually quite like h and m and new look for maternity, purely as there is a decent range in store. I'm wee and round so h and m isnt my usual store of choice. Top shop is also good and perfect for fashion conscious. You may need to size up as sizing not the most generous. Next has a decent maternity selection and is usually a go to when not pregnant but for some reason dont fit their mat wear well-ridiculous maternity leggings up to my arm pits.
Have maternity stuff from m and s, its lovely but I never saw it in store to buy. Love maternity leggings from there!
You could also try jojo mamma bebe or mothercare if really stuck.
Good luck and congratulations. Hope everything goes well x

If you look on the M&S website the only maternity stuff they stock is a few blouses and nursing bras. That's literally it! I was surprised as I do use M&S a lot for basics and I was sure they'd have some black work trousers, jeans etc but nope!

I live in a capital city and the only high steet stores in town that carry maternity wear in-store are TopShop, H&M and Mothercare- everything else I've had to order online. Jojo Maman Bebe as a PP mentioned definitely do maternity in store, and if you can get to a larger John Lewis (we don't have one) I would try there as they do carry a lot on their website- if you're over for a few days you could order online and pick up in store? Try stuff on in their changing rooms, then if it doesn't suit you can return it straight away. Although just double check the returns policy online.

I think Asos and Topshop are really good for casual maternity wear. For something a bit more special John Lewis is nice too.

Thanks everyone! We are already planning on going to (a large) John Lewis today, so I'll be on the lookout there.
Unfortunately cannot order stuff as we are leaving again tomorrow. So today is the day

I found Mothercare and Mamas & Papas good for maternity clothes. Enjoy your shopping day and take it easy with lots of breaks so you don't get exhausted! Smile

Jojo is your best bet for having a decent in store range of maternity clothes, they stock most of their lines in store and they are quite generous with their sizing.

You might find some stuff in bigger debenhams, New Look and H&M.

Good luck!

Hi Ladies - just read over your comments, the state of maternity wear in UK is truly substandard. I'd love to hear your thoughts on my thread here

Thank you so much!
