Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

Also, according to an online due date calculator my due date is legitimately Christmas Day 😂

Yay! Welcome RLI1105! 😀 that was one lucky thread! When was the last day of your missed period? Mine was the 18th of March (but I spotted 2 days before). So never really sure of my start day and just guess really. With my first two it was more clear for my start as I didn’t have spotting. Will you get the harmony test done? It seems a lot of people do it now (at least the people I know!). But with my first two it was not well know or didn’t exist.

And how are you feeling? This morning less bloated (but it seems to get worse as day goes on). Yesterday for dinner I wasn’t able to eat much as felt bloated. Someone in our group booked the dinner an hour later then I like (which is two hours later then we normally eat). So tonight I’m definitely going to eat early even if it means just getting room service!

Hello! My second is due on 19/12, last period was 14/03. I'm quite excited about a Christmas baby. I told my mum yesterday and she said "oh you've not timed that well". Always with the positivity my mother!

@DieCryHate Hello! 😃 I'm telling you right now that will be my mum's reaction down to a T!! My fiancé and I have decided to try and wait until our 12 week scan before we tell anyone and my mum lives down south so all going well we may get away with it.... but yes, "that's bad timing" will be out of her lips pretty quickly! 😂

@Mamabear12 Hello! The first day of my last period was the 16th of March but I ovulate late and have a short luteal phase. If I use the calculator that just takes the date of the 16th into account it says the 22nd of December is my due date but if I put it into a calculator which takes into account the fact I ovulate late it says the 25th. Confusing I know! It'll be nice to get a definitive one at the scan all going well! 🤞
I had to google the harmony test! I had no idea what it is. I'm 99% sure we won't get it done though. At the moment I just want to time to speed up until i can have a 12 week scan and tell everyone. My main anxiety now is losing this baby. I don't want to be worrying about genetic illnesses I didn't even know exist! But I don't know... it's early days! Never say never!

Symptom wise I feel unbelievably bloated and am still having the odd cramp. They seem to the in the morning when I wake up and as soon as I start moving around they settle. I'm getting seconds of nausea too. I'm not feeling too bad though!

Show about you all?

Hello, can I join this one too? Online due date calculator told me 22nd dec, but called to make my booking in appointment this morning and on the phone they calculated due date as 23rd. I'll be having a section though (after a section with complications with DS) so hopefully I'll actually be about a week before that! I was just thinking this morning about how I'll have to get Christmas fully planned before but arrives... 😂 🎄

Oh and yes, so bloated! I've been on a major health kick this year and lost 3 stone since Jan - I woke up yesterday and my tummy looked like I'd piled it all back on, I looked about 4 months preg already! Hope it goes down a bit before the real bump starts!

Me!

Only four weeks and five days pregnant, but used an online calculator which let me input my date of ovulation. I got December 19!

Welcome newcomers! I feel less bloated today. But suddenly got so tired. Spent a couple hours in bed this afternoon. Felt guilty as on holiday and weather is amazing out!! Now having a half of a coffee to try and wake up. No more spotting so that is good news.

Gotta go for an early scan within the next couple of weeks to make sure the embryo is in the right location as I have risk factors for ectopic. Will keep the thread posted!

Report
peasando · 15/04/2019 20:04

@EmeraldRubyShark me too - not for ectopic but because I had multiple miscarriages before my son so they want to keep an eye on me. Spoke to my consultant today and he's booking me in for a scan at 6 weeks. Fingers crossed all is well for both of us

I'm due dc3 on December 22nd and I'm a Christmas baby too but due to complications with dc1 its unlikely I'd get that far. Dc1 was born 7 weeks early and we lost dc2 in December due to a miscarriage so fingers crossed I get further this time

Aww peasando, I’m kinda slightly glad I’m not alone in this even though I wish you weren’t dealing with this.

I’m sorry for your loss, mammy, and hope this pregnancy continues.

Unlike you guys this is my first ever pregnancy so I’m really not sure what to expect overall, I’m just reminding myself it’s very early days and currently it’s more of a chemical change than a reason to believe in December there’ll be a lovely baby. Anything can happen but every day I’m still pregnant I’m still in the game! And I’m thrilled my body is clearly capable of conceiving despite the one tube so that bodes well for the future too.

Hi to all the new people!
@peasando @EmeraldRubyShark I'm sorry to hear that you've not had an easy time of it. At least the Dr's are keeping a close eye on you. Finger's crosses for your scan!

I self referred today and got my booking in appointment and 12 week scan date! It feels a bit more real now.

What is everyone thinking about doing more tests? I have loads of pregnancy tests left and I was thinking of doing one every 2/3 days or so for the next week to see the progression. A part of me thinks this is a good idea and a part of me thinks I could drive myself mad with it! 😂

Could I join you lovely ladies too?
According to online EDD checker I'm due somewhere between the 19th and 23rd December depending on which length cycle you go with)

DH and I have been trying for 18 months and I have always joked that I refuse to have a December baby as our 2 nephews and niece are all December babies too! My SIL has a great laugh when I told her my EDD.

Is anyone else booking in for an early scan?

Hi everyone,

I got my BFP today. I'm not quite sure about exact dates. My cycles seem to vary from 28-32 days. I've also tried using my ovulation date. I get somewhere between 22nd-28th.

I've had lots of nausea and cramping over the last week or so, but I'm hoping that will settle down.

peasando · 16/04/2019 06:00

@RLI1105 I still have a load of cheapie tests left and I've been doing them every day 🤦‍♀️ I will stop soon, I am acting like a mad person! I also have a clear blue digital left but I was going to wait until the weekend to do that in the hope it will have moved on from 1-2 to 2-3 (then I'll inevitably end up buying another one to see the 3+!)

When is your 12 week scan? I have mine on 10th June. Because of my history though I will get scanned a few times before that I think. I've also had to start progesterone suppositories, baby aspirin and in a few weeks I'll need to start heparin injections - it's all a total faff but it got me my boy 2 years ago so I'm just intending to do everything this same this time round!

Hi, congratulations everyone! I’m due 19th Dec but first pregnancy so no idea what to expect really. Not had much symptoms, mainly bloating really. Still feels surreal. I had to leave my details for midwife at doctors last week and haven’t heard anything yet but suspect I’m too early? Currently 4+5. Also, I’m only taking folic acid, should I have some other vitamins ? Thanks

jpaws I’m 4+6 with my first ever pregnancy! We’re pretty much twins 😂 looking forward to seeing this thread progress, obviously I’ve never been on one before, do we all just keep using this thread ongoing until babies arrive or not now?

I had a slight freak out yesterday when I went to the loo and spotted a very tiny bit of blood, not to be too TMI sorry but I noticed a bit of pink on the tissue so I stuck a finger in to check and it came out on there. Luckily I had a doc appt booked to arrange the early scan, and he explained that spotting is normal and fine and has no bearing on whether the pregnancy is viable or will continue either way, he also said it’s more likely to spot around the time you’d usually get your period, so now, and in eight weeks etc.

So he said it’s only a problem if it turns into more than spotting and doesn’t stop and is more like a period. Still i’m being very cautious as I’ve wanted kids for a few years and being pregnant is a dream come true and something I want more than anything else in the world at this stage of my life. So I’m reining myself in trying not to see this as anything other than a chemical reaction right now. OH is a medic so he’s the same, very matter of fact and realistic. We both said we’ll let ourselves get excited after a scan if all is okay.

Has anyone told anyone yet? Only my OH, one best friend and my boss know (needed to tell my boss for time off for appointments). I figure if I miscarry I’ll probably tell close friends and family then in retrospect as I’ll want the support.
