Claireb2203 Thu 04-Apr-19 12:54:46

Hi ladies, our last thread is full so thought I would start a new one smile

2018isanewyear Thu 04-Apr-19 13:02:40

Fab, is there a list going of due dates ect? I have only recently joint so sorry if I have missed it?

Claireb2203 Thu 04-Apr-19 13:04:14

There was on the previous threads, hopefully someone might add it to here as I don't know how too grin
I'm due 3rd October

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 13:24:25

I am due the 7th October

Hope everyone is ok today?

Dyra Thu 04-Apr-19 13:35:18

I think the due date list we do have is hopelessly out of date now. Think we stopped doing them within the first couple of pages in the second thread. Guess we could make a new list.

As for the uniform question from the last thread, I'm quite fortunate in that I wear scrubs. So I just pick out the correct size for the day! grin

Dyra Thu 04-Apr-19 13:39:05

Oh the list is forming! I shall aid it along.

Highlight, Copy and Paste as you will.

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 13:53:23

anyone any advice on how to hide a bump? I know is a strange question but I have certain people I dont want to know at the minute with my history

GinMama1 Thu 04-Apr-19 13:57:53

Picking up from the last thread...
@Nextchapter19 I have weird spots on my chest which I'm blaming on pregnancy hormones. My skin is generally quite dry and itchy as well.

@Claireb2203 no nothing except eating really! I'm into watermelon at the moment.

Claireb2203 Thu 04-Apr-19 14:03:53

@Dyra thankyou for the list

@fluffyunicorns86 Baggy t shirts is all ive found to cover up, not very flattering.

I second the itchy skin, especially my legs

secretlyhermione Thu 04-Apr-19 14:05:31

I have my scan in exactly one hour and half, so will able to give a more precise due date then. Hoping everything is ok, pretty excited to see the little bean again!

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 14:14:25

Thank you @claireb2203 I was thinking that and baggy jumpers aswell I think I read somewhere scarves aswell

Peacock14 Thu 04-Apr-19 15:26:29

Hiya! I didn't join in the last thread but want to on this one. I'm due approx 25th.

Woolly17 Thu 04-Apr-19 15:27:37

@fluffyunicorns86 oversize shirts are good, especially if you team it with slim trousers. Or very a-line dressed, teamed with a bit of a heel. I manged to look pretty impregnant till about week 20last time.

Peacock14 Thu 04-Apr-19 15:27:45

@secretlyhermione uh very exciting! Hope you get on ok

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 15:38:24

thank you @woolly17 will look into all these ideas

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 15:51:02

also for those who have had your 12 week scans did you get told where your placenta was? I didn't but I really want to know where it is

Dyra Thu 04-Apr-19 16:00:18

I didn't find out the placental position either @fluffyunicorns86, and I forgot to ask. It's also not in my notes, which makes me think it's something that wasn't checked. But then there's still loads of time for it to grow and move

Peacock14 Thu 04-Apr-19 16:03:24

@fluffyunicorns86 is the position important then? Naive as this is my first baby!

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 16:10:13

Thank you @dyra I forgot to ask also ad not on my scan or in notes got another scan at 16 weeks make ask then.

@peacock14 it can either be posterior (at the back) or anterior (at the front) just really want to know

Dyra Thu 04-Apr-19 16:13:17

As for red spots, I swear my psoriasis is getting worse. Fortunately it's not it's not too itchy, but I swear I'm developing new constellations of plaques on my skin that weren't there a few weeks ago.

Hiding a bump..... well....... I'm successfully hiding anything resembling one under a thick layer of fat atm. But I would not recommend that tactic to anyone else.

Claireb2203 Thu 04-Apr-19 16:14:55

I never got told about mine either, maybe they do it on 20 week scan

Dyra Thu 04-Apr-19 16:20:06

It's also low or high as well as anterior or posterior. smile Low means it's closer to the cervical os, so you might develop placenta praevia, or bleed a little.

Forgot about low and high 🙈

GinMama1 Thu 04-Apr-19 17:46:00

Anterior means you are likely to feel movement later. Mine was written on my notes last time but no one actually mentioned it to me.

secretlyhermione Thu 04-Apr-19 17:52:09

Scan went well! Measured at exactly 12 weeks today so three days further along than my previous calculations. Due 17 October. Baby was happy and healthy and sucking his/her thumb! Heard the heart beat which was amazing :-)

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 17:53:17

I am sure I felt my son last year quite early on if I don't feel anything soon I am going to think it is at the front this time with my 3 year old it was at the front and didn't feel him till it was quite late on

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 17:54:12

Glad all went well @secretlyhermione due on my birthday lol I due 10 days before my birthday

Peacock14 Thu 04-Apr-19 18:40:50

Thanks so good to know! I'll ask at my scan. Glad it went well @secretlyhermione

Frizzy1986 Thu 04-Apr-19 21:17:26

I asked about my placenta as had anterior last time. Posterior this time which I am happier about.
Anyone know much about the appointments? I was told at my scan that I'd have a consultant at 16 weeks (due to a previous tear) and then midwife at 28 (because it's baby #2)
My consultant has been postponed until over 18 weeks now and I said to my friend about it and she said she had a midwife at 16 weeks and a consultant. Should I have both? The midwife at the scan implied it was one or the other but now I'm worried I'm going to miss an appointment.

fluffyunicorns86 Thu 04-Apr-19 23:00:23

I have a scan at 16 weeks so will see if I can find out then. @frizzy1986 I have consultant care due to my BMI, my still birth and now my late loss also I had pre eclampsia with my eldest daughter. I see consultant at about 16 weeks I have got midwife at 15 weeks still waiting for my consultant appointment to come through

givememarmite Fri 05-Apr-19 06:02:26

Morning everyone! Thanks for the new thread, just checking in smile

HayzCo Fri 05-Apr-19 06:26:40

Hi all, I’m due 1st Oct. great to be here!

I spotted on my notes that my placenta is low anterior, so not good, but I understand most move up by 20 weeks. I think it’s then that you get informed if anything to really be aware of. The dr didn’t mention it though! We DTD last night and I’ve just read that sex is discouraged by some drs for women with low lying placenta, so that’ll worry me all weekend now!

kelly14 Fri 05-Apr-19 07:30:24

I’m due 20th Oct according to private scan I had Tuesday, but have actual scan on 10th so not long to wait.
They sais I have anterior placenta again with I had with my just turned 1 year old.
It made no difference to how early I felt movements i just felt the kicks more at the sides rather than in the front of belly.

Was never told to avoid sex last time.
I am high risk to due to prev blood clot ( so
Will be on clexane again from 26 weeks to 6 weeks postnatally) and 2 c sections and I saw consultant in addition to all my midwife appointments.
My notes tell you all the times you will see midwife, have scans etc.
We get extra scan at 36 weeks as standard at our hospital.
Ill post picture of what it shows in my notes.

Hi everyone! I'm 10+3 today and feeling excited that I've made it this far after 2 miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy, but also really anxious about my 12 week scan on 17th April and also about the risk of chromosomal abnormalities (both DH and I are older parents so we are high risk). @Secretlifeofme picking up from last thread.

Sounds like you've had a tough journey here too....till on October it'll be worth it!

My anxiety will definitely reduce when I feel more pregnant, i said to my DH I'd love a scan everyday just to check in on bean. Obviously that's excessive so for now I'll wait til 17th

Rememberallball Fri 05-Apr-19 08:27:29

Morning all and thanks for the new thread. I asked about placentas as my sister had placenta pravia twice (2nd and 3rd pregnancies) and spent a fair bit of time in hospital with her 3rd - from around 25 weeks till delivery at 36+1!! My midwife said that there’s no family likelihood of it happening to me but is random. At the scan last week I asked the sonographer about placenta position and was told they don’t check it till 20 weeks as it can move quite a lot as you grow in the 2nd trimester and it can move either upwards or downwards.

Thanks @ginmama1. I've called the community midwives and now have a 16 week appointment booked it. It's so unclear on my notes and totally implies that the consultant is instead of but at least it's sorted now.
I was throwing up nothing in the toilet this morning. Nausea had lessened but guess it's still there. Nothing in my stomach to actually vomit though so it was fairly gross. Felt loads better afterwards and then I had breakfast!

Added myself. And think I could be starting to get slight flutters although more likely gas bubbles.

So i had my scan. All seems well but is only 11+1 so too small for the downs test...and they found a 2cm cyst in my ovary. So another test on the 17th....hopefully the next one will ease my anxiety about how much they look like Mr Burns!

@saffy347 last time i was convinced a girl but tgis time i have no clue! Its british craft trade fair this week...on my way to exgibit now and cant stop crying! So stressed... back pain.... hormones and tiredness.

Secretlifeofme Sat 06-Apr-19 11:15:10

Has anyone else had any bleeding or spotting recently? I'm 10+4 today and haven't had any up until now but this morning I noticed some browny-pink when I wiped sad do you think I should get a scan or shall I wait and see if it gets any worse? It's really awkward because I'm flying back home from England today, it's a 12 hour flight and then I won't be able to get a scan in my home country on a Sunday so I'll have to wait until Monday sad

Doop Sat 06-Apr-19 12:02:14

@Secretlifeofme yeah i have. I google it and it called it implantation bleeding.

Secretlifeofme Sat 06-Apr-19 13:20:39

Hi @Doop, thanks for replying. How far along were you when you had it? And has it continued? I am so paranoid after losing three previous pregnancies sad

2018isanewyear Sat 06-Apr-19 17:26:10

Had our screaming results through today and low risk in all both, we had no reason to expect any other outcome but for my DH who stresses over most things I'm pleased. Hope everyone getting on ok

Im going to ask a silly question.... can anyone see your posts in the secret fb group? Ive been in it for weeks but not posted as kept thinking what of others just happen to see my posts! Ridiculous, hence name secret group. I know the answer here but need 110% reassurance as none of my family /friends know yet!!!!

On a different note is anyone so moody, irrational and emotional? Im angry, irritated, crying. My partner is getting sick of me! Hes gone to get a haircut literally to have some time apart!!!!!!

@2018isanewyear congratulations on good scan results!
We got ours yesterday and they were all good smile I was a bit worried this time (again) as my age is against us but all good so I'm happy.

Adding myself! 11+5 and feeling HUGE. DSD (almost 6) doesn't know yet, but she told me yesterday she thinks we'll have a baby soon because my belly is big!

@srk16 you can see my bump pic on this thread or maybe the end of the last one. I'm huge but am embracing it now as I'm clearly pregnant.
Anyone got any tips for a pregnancy pillow? I had a full body one last time that my sister gave me but it was so big and really sweaty. Don't want a "u" one as they seem to take up the whole bed. I'm currently using a regular pillow to rest my bump on but it's not ideal and makes my back and hips ache mid way through the night.

@Frizzy1986 I have the configurable pillow from Chicco (called a Chicco total body pillow - the old version rather than the new one which comes all in one piece) - it comes in three parts (connected by velcro). I found it really useful as I could use the bit(s) I wanted on any given night . Towards the end the entire pillow was in in but in the beginning I just needed the bottom part.

Adding myself to the list, scan was this week and we're five days ahead of where we thought we were based on ovulation times.

Worried about combined test results as I'm 35.

All set up for the trade fair for the next e days...and cant think of anything i want to do less. My back and legs are so painful, i dont know how many orders ill be able to complete while i feel like this, cant bear the thought of speaking to businesses and i seem to have had a late influx of sad hormones! Sorry for the moaning but i just feel so fed up today.

Secretlifeofme Sun 07-Apr-19 08:16:12

Update - my bleeding increased slightly and became more red in colour, so I went for an emergency scan and everything is fine! In fact the baby is measuring big for dates, at around 11+1. The doctor said the bleeding is coming from my cervix, which has become irritated somehow. So relieved! smile Hope everyone else is doing OK too flowers

Secretlifeofme Sun 07-Apr-19 08:18:15

I didn't think I'd be able to get a scan on a Sunday but I managed to find a clinic that would do it smile it's been a crazy couple of days with the bleeding, a long haul flight and now the weirdness of the time difference but I feel so much better now we've seen our little bean wriggling around on the screen grin

2018isanewyear Sun 07-Apr-19 08:37:18

@Secretlifeofme that's great news!!!!

@Secretlifeofme great news!

@Doop sometimes I dread something so much and then I end up actually enjoying myself....hope this is the same for you today thanks

Secretlifeofme Sun 07-Apr-19 08:56:30

@Doop I hope your trade fair goes well, hopefully it won't be as bad as you feared flowers

Dyra Sun 07-Apr-19 08:58:47

Glad everything went ok with your scan @Secretlifeofme.

Hearing everyone's combined test results starting to come back is making me wish baby had been more co-operative for mine. sad

I know that the quad test should pick up Down's and the 20 week scan any of the abnormalities associated with Edwards' and Patau's, so I will find out eventually. But it all feels so far away still.

Ah well, midwife next week. 16 weeks here I come!

Claireb2203 Sun 07-Apr-19 09:16:03

Anyone else having this gagging thing, where u feel fine but just randomly start gagging? It's horrible and if it happens too much I'm sick. It settled down for a week or so now at 14 +3 It's back!

2018isanewyear Sun 07-Apr-19 09:16:14

@Dyra my was a blood test for screening they did the standard fluid on neck check during scan but the results I received were from the blood test (from myself) therefore no baby co-operation required. Not sure if it's something you Can ask for at your 16 weeks appointment, I was offered it at booking in?
