Just so I can mentally prepare myself...

It was the weirdest feeling touching it - nearly lost my hands inside the blamanche!! (and I was a pre pg size 10!!)
Also seemed very brown for some reason. Cant remember how long it took to get back to some normality though!!

Hmm, that's what I suuspected. Annoyingly designed, isn't it? Why don't the muscles and skin just snap back into place? Bit worried about what I'm going to wear after baby is born - maternity clothes have got holes in from over-wear and I'd been hopinng I'd squeeze into pre-preg stuff. Ah well...

Was really hacked off. Because of pre-eclampsia I had to stay in hospital 5 days after dd2 was born. On the fourth day one of the pregnant women on the ward asked when my baby was due .....

i mentioned this to dp last night...i was just recalling how WEIRD it feels..empty for starters!... but also weak and so so so wibbly wobbly.my tummy button was barely recognisable and took at least a year to look exactly like it used to.

however i cant remember when it started not to still look a bit pregnant...think i was too distracted by engorged breasts.

two weeks on from having dd and i have had a "when's it due" comment and an "another one on the way?" joke

I didn't think it was that bad! but yes does look pretty brown too - weird! have bought some M&S magic knickers!

Oh dear, Annie, I'm glad you can't see mine. (A gelatinous mess of strechmarks weirdly underlined by a wonky c-section scar.)

But in good news: my friend just had twins and not a stretch mark to show. Plus, breast feeding and pushing pram for two means she is dropping the weight scarily quickly.

I didn't get any damn stretch marks until AFTER the birth Mostly on my breasts too - and they are the main reason I can't wear pre-preg clothes either. Glad to hear everyone else's tummy went brown tho

I've had three and no stretch marks

mind you it did look like and feel like a duvet for a few weeks after the briths

I had no stretchmarks first time around - this time they were hiding underneath my bump, only spotted in last couple of weeks of PG.

Flopadop · 07/07/2007 12:21

mine felt thick and rubbery, like that 70's toy Stretch Armstrong for those of you who are old enough to remember him. Glad to say went back to normal fairly quickly and luckily I have no stretch marks at all.

No stretchmarks (none now either, and I'm 30 weeks with baby no. 2), and no flab as such, but I never really got rid of my slightly pg-looking bump, cue several 'ooh, having another one?' comments even before this pg (and coinciding with 2 mcs, so Not Good all round). I could have tried a lot harder to get it flatter, though. And I'm pretty slight and my back is in a bit of a state, so it looked even more obvious.
