am thinking the same (only 37+5 but mahoosive baby by all accounts)

usual tips include: fresh pineapple, nipple stim (lulu's the expert on this ), sex and exercise

i will be trying maybe two of these today

nipple stimulation
as much walking as you can handle
raspberry leaf tea

but really, I know it's very cliche, but the baby will only come when it's ready (sorry!)

Not sure as I only took one, I found out about it on another thread on MN (you can do a search) He was fine by the way, I don't think it's like castor oil and orange juice which midwives tell you openly is dangerous.

i can so sympathise, when my dd was born last year she was a week over - not only was I planning a home birth and wanted to avoid hospital at all costs but my mum was here from Aus and was leaving 2 and a half weeks after the due date! so i kept thinking, oh crap at this rate she's going to be leaving within an hour of the baby arriving! No pressure or anything, the woman had only spent over $2000 to be here to meet her dgd!!

So .... I did sex, red wine, curry, pineapple, lots and lots of walking and (drum roll) acupuncture. Think this was the thing that worked, I had one session on the EDD and one session a week later.

That night, went for a long walk and ended up in yet another Indian restaurant. Ordered a glass of wine and was just about to order the hottest curry on the menu when my first contraction came. DH whipped out his watch and I. realising that this was the real thing, changed my order to a milder curry - was mindful of the "poo in the pool" factor, you see.

Can't recommend acupuncture highly enough. Ask your practitioner if they are skilled in induction. If you are iffy about needles, reflexology is also said to be good.

Good luck and happy labour!! x

Sex - unprotected. It made mine 3 days early - or it may have been a trip to Ikea - or both!
