Bloody Show

Hi all, how long after a bloody show did your LO make an appearance? I lost partial plug on Weds, loads of thick brown tinged cream and yellow mucus, had a sweep and a 3.5 mile walk yesterday with bad cramps and tightening on and off and this morning a big bloody show and thick mucus/water. I now feel a bit sicky and my belly is really aching all over like period pains and my back is hurting. Pain is prob 1-2 on scale of 1-10 so nothing unbearable as yet... opinions appreciated!

Sounds as if you're in labour honey. I felt like that after my show and I gave birth about 6 hours later (I do very fast labours).
Have you been sick/had a dodgy tummy yet? Those are classic signs of your body clearing itself out pre-birth.

If you have a pregnancy TENS machine, I'd get it strapped on now so you can build up your endorphins. Then I'd give your labour ward a call and talk them through how you're feeling.

Hi @Grammarist thanks for your response. I haven't been sick but I feel sick and my back is hurting loads. My fridge and cupboards are empty argh so I'm going to do a quick Aldi shop to stock up in case I do go in to active labour as mum will be staying here with DS so can't leave her without so much as milk for a cuppa lol! Never know pushing a trolley may move things along fingers crossed! I'm 39+3 weeks so not due till wed.

I've only had a show with one of my labours and DC3 arrived around 11 hours later. It wasn't bloody but it was absolutely gross. I'd say you're in the early stages of labour - 3.5 mile walks etc are great if you feel up to them but it's also important to rest and eat if you can. It could be a long time yet! How exciting though! Flowers

Have been admitted to hospital following regular strong contractions at home but they've tapered off since I've been here argh! I'm Step B positive so will need antibiotics in labour so I've come in sooner than I'd have liked anyway... I'm hoping they pick up again I've been bouncing on ball and pacing the room... so frustrating !!
