Seeing things that make me think I'm carrying a baby girl

Hello Ladies
I'm currently 16 weeks and have booked an early scan for Sunday to find out what we're having!
I'm super impatient but always said I think I'm carrying a girl but recently I keep seeing things that make me think I'm carrying a girl, like random really pretty dresses just hanging randomly in the men's section where someone decided they no longer wanted it and like a quiz at work the answer to one question was 'three for a girl' aswell as general dreams about a baby girl
Has anyone experienced this and it been right? I'd be really interested to hear your stories! How amazing if it is right!
Anyway I will keep you updated and let you all know on Sunday!

My instinct was right for both but then again a 50/50 chance gives you a good chance of being right I suppose!

That being said, I do think there's something to be said for your instinct! However, the seeing signs thing, I don't see anything in. Just my opinion obviously but only because in my case I know that if something is heavily on my mind whether I'm worried about it or really want something, I notice "signs" all around me. Things I probably wouldn't usually take note of!

Good luck either way!

I was convinced I was having a girl, when I was pregnant with my second son. Totally different pregnancy compared to my first. Less sickness, different cravings etc. But nope, he was a boy.

When I was pregnant with my youngest dd I dreamed I had given birth to dd2 and kept calling her by dd2’s name in my dream & everyone kept saying no this your new dd.

And I did have a dd. Lol

We didn't find out the sex of ds so had a girl and boy name picked out. Both names are forrin and not well known even in our home country. When I fell pregnant this time we obviously kept the girl name and found a new boy name. Around 20 weeks I was reading ds a story which his grandfather had brought back from a separate foreign country where this name would have been unheard of, and noticed the label was our chosen girls name. I've taken that as a sign we are having a girl. Give me 5 weeks and I'll let you know if the label was right Grin

(Btw I couldn't care either way but it will amuse me if it is a girl)

Yeah we're not fussed, it's our first baby and was just wondering if the little things like that was small signs dotted around! It's such a long wait, I'm so impatient haha! Congratulations

I was totally convinced I was having a boy. Dreamt about it and everything!

Three scans (gender at 16 weeks, 20 week scan, and 4D scan at 27 weeks) have all confirmed I'm having a girl! Grin

I was convinced I was having a boy. It was a girl.

I think for me during the pregnancy, I didn't dare to wish for a girl (because I really wanted a girl), so convinced myself it was a boy, so that I could get used to the idea.
I didn't want to tempt fate by even allowing my head to form the thought if that makes sense.
I was petrified of losing him/her. Then petrified there would be something wrong, so when a beautiful healthy baby girl came out, I was all sorts of insane that day. Best day of my life and always will be.
I would have equally loved a baby boy I'm sure, but it's just how it turned out. 50% odds.

And yes, it was the longest 9 months of my life.

Have you done the wedding ring over your bump OP?

Report
Heyjudas · 15/12/2018 05:57

If you haven't done the wedding ring thing, then you need a piece of thread (any cheap sewing kit), and tie a wedding ring (has to be a wedding ring) onto the thread. Then you hold the ring over your bump by the thread (thread should be long enough - maybe 8inches) and you dip the ring down towards your tummy once (because it's your firstborn). You don't actually touch the tummy with the ring, just dip the ring towards the tummy.

If it's a boy, once you've dipped the ring on the thread and just hold it, the ring will move in a straight forwards/backwards motion.
If it's a girl, it will move in a circular motion.

I think you're supposed to get another mother to do this, so your own mother for example.

It's actually freaky so see the ring in some sort of magnetic field. This test on me indicated a girl every time (but not wanting to get my hopes up I called bullshit on it), but yes it was correct.

It's a fun way to spend time.

I also spent time reading rune stones my mother I had gotten. It's so exciting and God so exciting!

Let us know how the ring goes.

I was convinced my girl was a boy, then convinced my boy was girl. For my 3rd I found out, but regretted it as not knowing until the birth was really special.

Hey, they even have it on youtube, if my explanation didn't quite explain it right.

Heyjudas · 15/12/2018 06:04

Actually this youtuber has gotten it wrong, as she should have dipped then ring twice for second born. You don't just hold it there. You dip it for every pregnancy, so once for first born, twice for second born etc.
It's just a bit of fun.

In my first pregnancy, we didn’t find out the sex so picked out a boys name and a girls name. I started seeing the girls name everywhere, I was convinced it was a sign! He’s a boy Grin

This time I have no inkling either way... it’s a bit weird!

Wow @lelrx! What made them think the baby was a boy the first time? I've had 2 boys and it's very obvious 😂

Congratulations though!

Wow, what a surprise! If I were you, I wouldn’t be packing any particularly “gendered” clothes in the hospital bag!

I'd keep things neutral if there had been different answers but I knew 100% my DS was going to be a boy from 14 weeks onwards. Instinct was right.

Just got to wait another 7 weeks before I (hopefully) start getting the same sort if feelings.

How do you feel about the change?

I was convinced right away I was having a girl. All names thought of vlothes looked at etc. Where all for a girl.

Dont know why but the idea could of been a boy didnt even enter my head.

Sure enough I was right. I mean 50:50 chance.

But I just knew...
