Hi all.
Where is a good place to buy unisex (grey, Winnie the Pooh, clouds etc) changing mats that aren't super expensive?
Where does good quality but good value ones?

IN my experience (4dc) cheap does not equate to good quality or long lasting. With my first three i just bought normal £5-10 changing mats, with dc4 I bought a mamas and papas one like in pic, 2.5 yrs later it’s still good as new, whereas the previous ones all split on the side and had to be replaced. I think the M&p ones are a better design as they are stitched all the way round.

We bought one from mamas and papas which wasn't cheap but it was durable and we're going to use it with DC2 as well. Definitely worth the extra £10-£15 :)

We've gone for the wedge changing mat from Mothercare. Get what you can afford but bear in mind it'll get used a lot and take quite a hammering so might be worth spending a bit extra on a decent one.

Following with interest - I just looked up the mamas and papas ones on amazon and the reviews are rubbish! Say they're not waterproof and get pop stained - am I looking at the wrong mats or are the reviews wrong? FTM would love advice on which to invest in

I just bought a fantastic mamas and papas one for £9.50 in the sale. It’s a mint green alphabet one - unisex.
For a spare/downstairs one I just got a basic John Lewis one for £6.50

Ours was 50p from an Nct sale, still going strong on child 2. Easy to clean so no worries about germs etc

@leecee ive not had any problem with staining and mine is the grey elephant one so would show up. Not had a problem with waterproof either, although due to experience with older dc I nearly always laid a muslin under her when changing for the first few weeks as newborns do tend to pee when nappy comes off and I don’t have changing table so wee would of just dripped off onto sofa/carpet, as they go past the newborn stage they tend not to do that so much!

We picked up 2 grey cloud ones from Aldi during the baby event (they always seem to have them) so if you can wait til jan I’m sure there’s normally a baby event then 😊 DD is 6 months and they are both still doing the job just fine!

I got a lovely grey one with white stars from b&m for ds1 for £5 has lasted nearly two years and barely a mark.

Bought a mama's and papa one for ds2 a few weeks ago for a lot more and it's just as good quality.

I have the pink/white version of the mamas and papas one on 4-week old dd’s changing table and it is already stained - the plastic it’s made of almost seems porous rather than properly wipe clean.

I’m also not a fan of the stitching as the thread has also stained on both sides from one particularly explosive poo, and never looks clean regardless if how much dettol I’ve sprayed on it.

I’d recommend one that’s molded rather than stitched. We bought a cheap east coast one off amazon and it’s much better.

I got 2 mothercare ones which were roughly £10 each and a couple of washable covers from ikea.
Dd is 3 1/2 and they’re still fine, we’ll be using them for dc2

Supermarkets we always usually just get ours, Asda, Tesco, etc.. easy to pick up while doing a grocery shop
