Maternity wear rant!!!!

Why is it that NOWHERE sells decent quality and priced maternity wear INSTORE.
Everything is online and often out of stock which is very clearly not very useful when we really need to try stuff on to make sure it fits and theres enough give in the material!
I know Mothercare do but its so limited and some of it is really unflattering.
I ordered 3 different swimming costumes online at asda, all in different sizes and every single one was a bloody no go.
It's so frustrating!
Im away this weekend and have no summery clothes or cozzie!

I'm finding the same issues!!

I have a pair of shorts from H&M that are excellent though - I must order another pair. I really want some dungarees but everywhere is sold out!

Though I found the asda cossies perfect so not much help...

H&M have maternity in-store, well mine does. The shirts are very good prices the jeans are a little expensive and I don't know about dresses etc. X

To be fair, I had both mine in the spring so was pregnant during the colder months, but I never found maternity clothes shopping too much of an issue. With my second especially I just bought regular stuff in larger sizes.

Could you not just buy a regular bikini for going away with a cover up?

@Irwe I just ordered the last pair of dungarees on Boohoo over the weekend there- I wanted a pair during my last pregnancy but was so worried about DH and my family teasing me I never bought them. Found out I was pregnant two weeks ago and thought “Fuck it! If I want to look like I’m in a Dulux paint ad, I will!”

Ahh this was so frustrating. I found New Look did really good maternity clothes, but I had to go to 3 different branches (in 3 different towns) before I found one that has maternity in store.

Mothercare is terrible! Small selection of expensive stuff!

Oh you are so right! So annoying nothing is in store! H&M seem quite good though. I got my bikinis from Tesco- normal not maternity, just massive sizes.

I don't think I bought any maternity stuff in store. It's all online which was annoying at first. I used Asda, H&M and new look and have been happy with everything I got so didn't need to buy anything else as I bought a load of clothes at the beginning of pregnancy

Online only (unless there's a big store nearby) but Dorothy Perkins has some nice summery stuff that's not extortionate!

It’s a real pain. Especially when you need work appropriate clothes. Planning to hit Cos tomorrow and see what voluminous outfits they have that might fit me now (17 weeks) until December!

I've found the bigger New Looks not too bad for stock in-store. Got some tops, jeans and trousers for work in my local big retail park one.

However I have also rediscovered old-fashioned catalogue shopping (albeit online) - got some amazing stuff in the La Redoute sale, including great dungarees. Haven't shopped with them since I was a kid and my mum made me circle stuff in their catalogue! I think because they are properly set up for it being mail order it works better. Bought multiple sizes, all came in small enough bags to go through letterbox and the wrong sizes were very easy to return. And the refund was paid very fast.

Yep I quickly discovered as well that the only clothes worse here then the normal ones is the maternity wear or lack thereof.

I mostly bought from H&M and on eBay. Amazon has a good return policy and I think if you order from Next online with delivery to the store you can try it on in the dressing room and return it there if you don't like it.

I've tried h&m, new look, Mothercare tesco & asda.
The problem I've got is that i have large boobies.... my bump is ginormous but i have a little bum lol so what fits in one place doesn't in the others costume wise lol.
The other shops don't have my size. I just feel like I'm at a major loss. 😂

Depending on your size, yours clothing has a decent selection for over size 16.

I found bon prix was quite good too for basics, and a decent waterproof coat for dog walking in winter. They even had an insert for after baby was here to accommodate the sling. I think Bon prix is all sizes though.

I hate maternity clothes. I have a very distinct style and it’s incredibly hard to find, plus it’s all really expensive. Last time I was in my normal clothes four days after giving birth so why would I spend so much on a dress I’ll wear for such a short time?!

H&M is great for instore Mat wear.

I've bought 4 dresses from them and they are lovely. Lightweight, stylish, nice designs and colours. They're priced between £18-£30

Most of mine are in the £20 range. I live in them at the moment with this weather.

Also bought some nice t-shirts from there as well, two for £12.
