First ever hangover at 25 & collapsed, pregnant?!

Hello! smile

Read so many posts on here but this is my first one I've written! I know nobody can tell me I'm pregnant or not without a test, however..

I'm 25 & have never had a hangover or been sick from drinking & ive done the 18-30 holidays, the bottles of vodka at 18 & zero hangover or sickness just tired & hungry!

So Saturday I went out had maybe 7 pints of strongbow dark fruits (new favourite thing ever for the last two weeks) and the next morning OH MY GOD (worth noting I hadn't eaten for maybe 14 hours at this point) so was sick just bile over and over again, in the end up I ended up collapsing while out sat with first response for 40 minutes & in an ambulance (breathed in & didn't breathe out) obs done & refused advice of an A&E due to where we were, was on my own with 8 year old & would have no way of getting home. They said that was fine but kept me in the ambulance untill obs were better & I had eaten & drank (their last job of the day) they suggested I did a pregnancy test.

There was one time in May that I could have got pregnant around ovulation time. Last period was June 6th but was only three days & prior to this I did I feel off and noticed a few things that I thought could be pregnant symptoms but then I had my period so thought it was just that. Since then I don't think I could be pregnant as I predict I'm due to ovulate around now. Although did have unprotected sex on the 8th June. Could I be pregnant even after having a 3 day period? I know it's slim!

Has anybody else been really ill after a night out early pregnancy? I didn't think much of it (just that I'm clearly getting old haha) untill my friend said she had this experience really early on! Today I have also nearly been sick on a car journey (had motion sickness with my first pregnancy)

If your still reading, thankyou!!

I know this isn't why you wrote but is this correct? You drank 7 pints of cider whilst being solely in charge of your 8 year old?

Re pregnancy, take a test you'll soon know.

raindropsandsunshine Mon 18-Jun-18 23:07:06

I see it was the following morning, still not ideal. Not a good idea to drink so much what if you'd needed to drive your child in an emergency that morning? You'd have been over the limit by a lot.

mmmgoats Mon 18-Jun-18 23:07:33

As PP take a test?
And i too am confused about the cider drinking while being in sole charge of your child...

mmmgoats Mon 18-Jun-18 23:07:50

ah my mistake OP reread and had misunderstood

Ummmmgogo Mon 18-Jun-18 23:09:03

you sound hungover to me, but get a test from the pound shop tomorrow to put your mind at rest x

XxXemma Mon 18-Jun-18 23:11:06

?? Wow maybe I wrote this wrong? I did not drink whilst looking after daughter I'm disgusted so many people have commented back saying that! My daughter was at home with Dad I went on a very rare night out with my cousin. & we went shopping late afternoon? If she had needed medical attention her dad would have driven us what the hell, I didn't make this post to receive these kind of comments atall! We got a taxi to the train station & the train into the city to shop where I collapsed!

Just sounds like getting older I’m afraid- I too had a goddess like ability to dodge hangovers until my mid-twenties hit me in the face. I’m 29 now and suffer really badly with them, especially if I don’t live my stomach properly.

Ummmmgogo Mon 18-Jun-18 23:13:21

people enjoy judging on this site don't let it get to you x

Grobagsforever Mon 18-Jun-18 23:13:24

Were you in charge of your child overnight after drinking that much????

XxXemma Mon 18-Jun-18 23:13:38

Yes I think hungover too. it was just that I have never been sick after drinking ever & certainly have never collapsed after a night out. It was the paramedics that suggested pregnancy as i have never experienced a hangover before & have been on many many nights out!! Was just wondering if anybody reacted this way after drinking and turned out that they were pregnant that was all.

Grobagsforever Mon 18-Jun-18 23:14:48

7 pints of strongbow..it's basically alcohol and nasty chemicals..hence you puked

Isadora2007 Mon 18-Jun-18 23:16:19

Why can’t you do a test?

Helloflamingogo Mon 18-Jun-18 23:16:39

Your post is really difficult to follow OP - I don’t understand where the 8 yo comes into it. Take a pregnancy test.

XxXemma Mon 18-Jun-18 23:17:31

I'm deleting my thread. These comments have nearly reduced me to tears. I have read threads on this website for years & never thought I'd get these kinds of comments. My post is about people having an adverse reaction to alcohol in early pregnancy, not justifying my parenting.

I went out early evening, home by 3.30 asleep till 12 then lots of sick then took daughter shopping as had promised her a shopping trip & as stated I have never suffered with hangovers so going out the night before wouldn't have been a problem smile daughter was home with dad spending some quality time without mum as it was Father's Day!! not that it is any of other peoples business!

Wolfiefan Mon 18-Jun-18 23:18:21

Drink less.
POAS.

Casmama Mon 18-Jun-18 23:18:22

Sorry OP I think it is just getting older- hangovers definitely get worse.
Also some th8ngs cause worse hangovers than others- clear spirits seem to be best for me and red wine about th worst so if you drank something you don’t usually drink then it might be one to avoid.

Pregnancy is always possible but as yo7 say- only a test will tell you.

AlisonCHaynes Mon 18-Jun-18 23:19:46

If those responses are reducing you to tears I think you need to toughen up

Thattwatoverthere Mon 18-Jun-18 23:19:53

The first sign for me in both of my pregnancies was getting really drunk very fast on not a lot of alcohol. I don't remember the hangovers being worse than usual but then I do get them anyway. The only way to know is to test. Good luck!

XxXemma Mon 18-Jun-18 23:20:23

Thanks for less nasty replies ladies, don't know why 8 year old became the focus she was only included to say why I didn't follow paramedic advice of hospital.

Jeeez if this is what a hangover can do I'll never drink again haha! I didn't know it was possible to collapse from a hangover!

I'm not sure I'll be able to test yet 😩 although other half came home from asda earlier with four digital clear blues bless him! smile

HarrietKettleWasHere Mon 18-Jun-18 23:20:58

Oh for goodness sake🙄

Perhaps you are pregnant. You're certainly incredibly sensitive.

Take a test. It's very easily done.

XxXemma Mon 18-Jun-18 23:21:16

Alison Hayes...

Anxiety problems, apologies.

Wolfiefan Mon 18-Jun-18 23:22:44

You drank 14 plus units after no food for 14 hours and you still wonder why you felt like shit?
Your 8 year old was the focus as you were clearly in no condition to have sole charge of a minor.

anothernamechanged Mon 18-Jun-18 23:23:40

In my first pregnancy, I was on honeymoon and about a week after conception I got very drunk and had the worst hangover I've ever had - completely disproportionate to how much I had drunk. I had to stay in bed all day, had to sit down on the floor in the shower. I could barely function. I've had hangovers before but just felt rough, this was completely different. But being in a different country, perhaps it was down to the measures/volume in the alcohol, I'm not sure. But I've never had an experience like that before or since.

NotAsGreenAsCabbageLooking Mon 18-Jun-18 23:24:00

Don’t let people get to you... I’ve been drunk whilst in sole charge of my children. Guess what..? We’re all fine. It’s not something I’d advise and I know this isn’t what you did.. but you know, none of us are perfect 🤷🏻‍♀️ Not even the posters who seem to be outraged that you as an adult may have chosen to have a drink, and still DARE to spend time with your daughter the next day.

Ignore them, and go take a test to be sure.

One of my friends had a bad reaction to alcohol on a night out, ended up being sick and going home early. Turned out she was pregnant.
