Hey everyone! I have put on a lot of weight in my pregnancy and it's only my first! It's really putting a downer on me now. I started at under 9st and now I'm bang on 12 with 6 weeks still to go😬 Is this normal and is it going to take forever for me to lose weight after? I thought with your first baby you were very small but my bump is massive! And my legs have put on quite a bit of fat. Not to mention my bubble butt has disaperared🙈 I'm so happy that my baby is growing lots but I can't help but think of what I'll look like after!

35 weeks here and also 3 stone up probably 4 now and it's my first baby also ..I started on 10 stone and a size 8 and now I'm 13 stone probably more but I refuse to weigh myself again as it just upsets me to much ... and yes I'm on a major low about it aswell😔 But I know weight can be lost after so I'm trying to remain strong about it and not think to much about the end result other than my gorgeous little girl I hope alps okay op

Congratulations! Flowers I was 10 stone before DS, put 4 stone on with him, then after he was born I lost it all apart from a stubborn 7lb. When I was pregnant with DD on went another 3.5 stone, but 6 months after she was born I was back down to 10 stone and I’ve stayed there. No idea why that 7lb came off! I just seem to get large when I’m pregnant! None of the HCPs I saw commented on it.

I'm 5ft and pre pregnancy was 8 and a half stone. I put over 3 stone on in my recent pregnancy but I think a lot of it was liquid as I was all bump! I got a bit concerned towards the end so tried my best to stay mobile and ease off the sugar!

I'm 5 weeks post c section now so still haven't been given the all clear to exercise but have been walking daily and back to my healthy eating and have dropped over 2 stone already. Obviously a lot of it was water and baby but my arse is definitely smaller now 😂

Just try make some healthier options (easier said than done) and go for a little walk every day. Most of all don't stress about it too much, enjoy the rest of your pregnancy

@bowgumdrop2018 I don't think I will be weighing myself again either! Just upsetting, I know it's vein but I can't help it! Hope you and your baby girl all the best x

I put on much more weight with my first, even though they were premature!

Second child and I no longer have time to eat so weight came off quite quickly!

@CrackingCheeseGromit So happy to hear that it comes off! I was so scared I loved my body before baby! Although it will all be worth it for my baby girl! My midwife has never mentioned anything about my weight either I just didn't think it was normal!

@Smurfybubbles I'm hoping I'm all just water and baby to! Not looking forward to what I might look like after if not🙈 I was on the unhealthy side during my first half of pregnancy but now I'm eating healthy and still piling on the weight! Hoping for most the weight to be gone by 8 weeks will defo be getting back into the gym if not! My arse is just flat now, it used to be so nice! I feel bad for my boyfriend as he is most definitely an ass guy😂

@Redheadmummy3 I'm dying to get back fit but I have to wait for the all clear! My stomach ended up so stretched I doubt it will ever go back to what it was before but I've made my peace with that if I can just get my arse and legs back I'll be happy Grin

Dealing with a newborn is exercise enough for now!

I put on 3.5 stone with each baby. You'll easily lose it after the birth.

@Smurfybubbles I'm dreading to see how much mine has stretched after I've honestly never seen a pregnant woman as big as me🙈 Did you suffer from bad stretch marks? I have them bad from the bottom to about just over halfway to my belly button and dreading in case they don't disappear after! I've been using cream daily but there just rising higher by the day!

Oh my goodness, this is me!

Only today I've just suddenly realised how fat I am 😩 I've put nearly 3.5stone on and I'm 13.5 stone .

I'm really hoping it just falls off, I have no food discipline at the moment

It was a sudden realisation for me too when I stepped on the scales one day! I knew I was big but not that big🙈 That's what I'm hoping too but I doubt it I have been bad with the buiscuts and crisps to be honest😂

I gained 4 stone with DC1. He was a 10 lb baby so I lost a stone giving birth but the other three stone didn’t come off before I was pregnant again 😬. Gained 2 stone in my second pregnancy, again lost a stone after delivery. 4 stone up in total, got pregnant AGAIN 6 months later. So all in all I ended up 5 stone heavier than I started. Depressing. Took me a year of hard work to lose it all. During this pregnancy I am trying not to gain so much because I simply CBA putting the work in Grin.

@Mousefunky I think I might end up being the same I was eating a lot of crap until recently😬 I have managed to loose a lot of weight before but I know it's going to be a lot harder with a baby around!

I was just under eight stone before pregnancy and put on four stone, I was holding a lot of water I think as my legs and feet were swollen. By the time DD was six weeks I was Nearly three stone down without trying.

@Redheadmummy3 yep I had the exact same stretch marks as you despite using oils daily! Im susceptible to them so I was always going to get them. They look less angry now and I'm still using bio oil but it will take a while for them to fade. My mum was the same and hers are barely visible now, they've faded so a silvery colour.

i didn't put any weight on until 30 weeks then it seemed like i gained 3 stone over night! i weighed the day after i gave birth and was only 5lb above my pre-pregnancy weight so must of all been fluid, it weighs a lot more than expected and there's a lot of it!

I put on about two stone but my biggest problem was indulging myself for 6 months after DS was born. Then I saw myself in his christening photos and went to SW pretty sharpish. Still over half a stone off where I want to be but that's down to my lack of motivation!! Don't sweat it, you'll be fine.

Report
lapenguin · 13/06/2018 22:36

I gained about that much! Then my waters broke, three days before I delivered, you would not have been able to tell I was pregnant, I had no bump after! All my clothes were loose too! I had gained water everywhere, my ankles, hands, arms, legs etc were all swollen from 15 weeks! I lost all the weight by 2 weeks post partum.

Redheadmummy3 · 13/06/2018 22:39

Well fingers crossed I do lose it after and my stretch marks! They're just so in your face haha! Definitely feel better now was thinking I would be a whale after🙈

Stretch marks will fade, you'll generally always see them, but the ones on my belly are hardly noticeable! Ones on my thighs from puberty are worse!

I always balloon in pregnancy and it always stayed on till I stopped breastfeeding. Hormonal I think as I gain loads of weight on the pill and even mirena

Report
Havetothink · 14/06/2018 08:57

I lost a lot of weight from breastfeeding even though I was still eating like a horse, tummy took longer to go though as I was huge in pregnancy (90 percentile the whole time).
