yesterday my boss said to me "don't take this the wrong way but I can't believe how pregnant you are already" and today my sister said "don't take this the wrong way but how do you expect to make it to 40 weeks when you're already this big" 😭😭😭

Baby is obviously cooking nicely!

I, on the other hand, still just look fat. I have 2 pregnant colleagues and one asked me if I was taking bump progress photos. I said no and pointed out that I've looked 6 months pregnant for the last 2 years!!

Marking my spot...... I'm start to look a little more pregnant, my waist has just about disappeared, but sometimes I just think I look fat or bloated! I finally get my scan on Monday, woohoo, getting excited!,,

Has anyone started buying stuff yet?

Can I join too please? I read all of the previous thread, was always too afraid to post!
I'm due 24th nov, 15 weeks today and looking more like 25 weeks!!! This bump seems to have seriously popped in the last week. Exciting but very strange! Grin

Is everyone else at the stage of setting dates for maternity leave? I sent my letter to HR yesterday and managed to get the dates totally wrong but realised and managed to intercept the post before it was collected!

Ive only told my line manager, I don’t want to tell anyone else until we’ve done the risk assessment so I know what impact it might have. I’m Meeting them on Monday to do it.
I’m worried I will get risk assessed out of everything and everyone will treat me differently.
My colleagues are great and they will only be trying to help but I’m not good at being told I’m not allowed to do things!

I've done no preparation at all. I'm still in denial and having issues with my partner because I don't think he wants this (unplanned). So I haven't told work etc or bought anything or allowed myself to get excited.

Physically I don't think I have a bump but I do look bloated. But I have always been bloated so I can't tell if there's also something else happening. No movements yet but I'm only 17 weeks so I didn't expect any.

we share a building with another department who probably take up 80% of the space. they've announced they're exiting the building at the end of the year so I'm expecting realistically for us to exit too it would make no sense to stay. I'd probably have to take redundancy which isn't a bad thing as I'm unhappy and fancy a change and would get around a years salary in my pocket. if that gets announced after the half year, I'll be taking my leave as early as possible as the redundancy situation would mean I'd get 3 extra months full pay. if it doesn't, I'll be holding on as long as possible to spend more time with baby so I'm holding off talking about it just now!

Must just be my company that want a date by the time baby is 15 weeks cooked then!

I work for the NHS and you don't have to tell them formally when you want to leave till after 20 weeks (I think), but can't remember the exact details, I know my boss isn't hassling me about it.....

It's even in my contract that I have to inform my line manager of pregnancy as soon as I find out!

Thinking about it, to be fair I do what is on paper quite a straight forward job, but it takes 4-6 months to train someone up to being competent enough to work solo.

Report
Emma198 · 03/06/2018 13:33

you're not obliged by law to tell them until 15 weeks before you're due! so 25 weeks pregnant!

Went and picked husband up from train station and popped into Sainsbury's for some shopping. Mothercare is on the same industrial estate thing. May have bought one of these Blush

Wouldn't normally have dreamt of buying it so early but got that lot plus car seat and isofix base on a deal for £450!

I'm 17 weeks on Tuesday and have a definite bump. It's well past my (now F cup) boobs and I need mat wear or workout leggings in a size up now. Nothing else fits.

No movement or anything yet but my bump has appeared in the last 2 weeks. I haven't gained weight anywhere else yet.

My workplace don't need a date until I get my Mat B1 form at 22 weeks or whenever that is - I have an appointment not long after my 20 week scan where the midwife said she'd give me a form.

@Emma198 it's an unnecessary extra that attaches to the car and you clip the car seat in and out rather than needing to use the seatbelt
