Induction nerves - positive stories?

I'm 41 weeks and being induced tomorrow and I'm feeling really nervous, it's my first baby and I'm especially nervous as the estimated weight at my growth scan on weds was 10.5lbs! I know the scans can be inaccurate but it doesn't help my nerves! Also I've only heard horror stories about long drawn out inductions that required intervention, does anyone have any positive induction or big baby stories that might help with my nerves?

I was induced with my first baby last year. I was nervous about it also, but actually it was fine. I had the drip, and once that started it was over in 10 hours. I did have an instrumental delivery, but it was the decision they had to make at the time and I felt comfortable with it. I felt like I was in the right hands! And the recovery wasn't bad at all, I was at the shopping mall they day after I'd got home.

I didn't like the idea of an induction either, but they do what's best at the time and the end result is the same. All the best!

I’ve been induced with 2 out of 3 of mine (and the other one I went into spontaneous labour with the morning I was meant to be induced!) and it was fine.

The first was a bit more technical but he was back to back and had his hands up next to his face so he needed a bit of help to come out but it was still all done and dusted in 22 hours.

The other one was no interventions, no drip and baby born 12 hours after the first pessary.

Good luck Flowers

You will be fine, I had the drip and although it took a long time to get going it all went well. 10lb baby here too, they had to use ventouse & episiotomy. The only problem afterwards was the stitches took longer to heal than my second pregnancy where I tore. Epidurals are amazing, don't try to be a hero!
