Hello!

So sorry for tmi but I've woken up with stomach cramps which I thought were Braxton Hicks.

Got so bad I had to get up and run my belly and pace a bit but ended up heading to the toilet with diarrhoea x 3

I'm 29 weeks first pregnancy, is this normal and okay if it's a bug or upset tummy or should I call the midwife.

I've felt baby moving so believe they are fine.

Many thanks and again sorry TMI

I’ve had a lot of this in my third trimester. But then I have IBS so put it down to that. It went away in 1st/ 2nd but is now back!

If this is unusual for you and you haven’t eaten anything out of the ordinary then there’s no harm in calling the midwife just to be sure.

Had exactly this at about 15 weeks. It was grim but I was fine by the morning. Chalked it up to being one of those things. Hope you feel better OP but if it persists, maybe check with the midwife.

I had violent vomiting and diarreah at 38 weeks with my DS (who was jumping around like crazy) and was admitted to hospital for precautionary reasons however once there the doc said that the digestive and reproductive systems are very much separate and that the baby was highly unlikely to have been affected at all. This said, if you have any concerns, prob best to give you midwife a bell...x

I had exactly this at 32 weeks, I literally thought I was having contractions with the waves on stomach ache I was getting in the middle of the night. I felt better the day after tho but I put it down to an iced starbucks drink I had. Have been fine since tho :)

Hi guys thanks for your responses!

I really thought the griping pains were contractions at first and was freaking out!

Was up until 5am and got an hours sleep. I rang the midwife later on in the morning she said most likely a tummy bug to take paracetamol drink water and to call back if it continues.

Thank you all again for the advice Grin
