Am I pregnant?

I usually have a 28 day cycle roughly, give or take a few days either way. Period started on day 1 and ended like usual around day 5. Day 7 I had unprotected sex. Day 21 I had unprotected sex.

By day 29 no period. On day 31 as still no period I took a test which came back negative. On day 33 still no period so I took another test which was negative again.

On day 38 (yesterday) I still had no period so I took a test and this one came back positive.

I'm extremely confused! I didn't think I had sex at a fertile time of my cycle and I got 2 negative tests. I have no symptoms other than I noticed my milk output is markedly less when pumping (I'm still breastfeeding). I do feel like I am having slight period cramps. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow but does anyone have any answers in the meantime?

Maybe your fertile time was later this cycle and that’s why you had the 2 negatives early on, it was too soon to be picked up

I took a test on day 33 that was negative and got my BFP a week later (it was a tough wait). So I think you are pregnant. A positive is rarely wrong and the dr doesn't usually do a test if you've had a positive.

If you ovulated later than usual, around day 21-24 that day 21 sex could well have made you pregnant and itd only be showing up on a test around now

Thanks for the responses. Yes it does make sense that I ovulated later in the month and that's why I got the two initial negatives.

Will update when I know for sure!

But would this mean I have a very short luteal phase and it would be hard for me to keep the pregnancy?

You may normally ovulate around day 14 bit just this month later? I'm sure breastfeeding can cause that.

My doctor confirmed by blood test that I’m pregnant. But I don’t know how far along am I. Still sinking in...
