Swimming during pregnancy

Me and hubby are looking at booking a little summer UK break before baby arrives in October. Looking at going somewhere in June and I'll be around 25 weeks pregnant. Want to book somewhere that has a swimming pool but unsure on whether it's safe to go swimming at this stage in pregnancy etc?

It's fine and good for you to swim during pregnancy. Don't worry about it at all.

Swimming is safe at any stage of pregnancy. I expect to spend most of the third trimester in the pool, as the feeling of weightlessness is such a relief.

Swimming is excellent during pregnancy. You'll feel great. I didn't want to get out of the pool for my last few weeks of pregnancy, I felt as light as a feather in the pool.

Totally fine. After I'd stopped being sick in my first pg, I swam most days - did a mile the day before DS was born. 2nd pg, swimming made me sick. After I'd thrown up in the swimming pool car park a few times, I stopped swimming.

Not as far on as you op but went swimming this morning and planning on carrying on as long as possible. Off on hold at about 20weeks and will use the pool

I went swimming at 33 weeks. Was really nice and a midwife led swimming session. Very good in pregnancy.

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and go every week to my local pool as I'm taking swimming lessons granted I started them before I was pregnant but its great to just get in the water. I may not be able to swim as far etc due to getting tired quicker but its great for you. Just be careful what stroke you do as some arent gd for you during pregnancy as can affect your pelvis. I plan to keep swimming to the end.

Swimming is generally considered safe and healthy in pregnancy. However, the leg motion in breast stroke can trigger or exacerbate SPD, where the pelvic bones separate a little too far and can be exceedingly painful so best to avoid this.

Pools often come with saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs, all of these should be avoided in pregnancy. But swimming in a regular pool is just fine. Enjoy.

Women give birth in water, it's fine.
