Posted waaaaaay too soon!

I’m 7+6 today and for the past few weeks I’ve been struggling daily with being so tired. I could sleep all the time and it’s making day to day life so difficult. I have midwife on Thursday so will she do bloods? Is this the case for others or could I be lacking in iron?

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy! It's very normal to feel totally wiped out in the first trimester, happened with both of mine (due in a few weeks in DC2). On my days off with DC1 I would just sleep, really struggled to get up for work! Ashamed to say I can't remember when they do the bloods, but I think I had the first lot done at 12 weeks when I went for my scan. Just try to rest when you can, drink lots of water and know that you'll most likely get some energy back in the second trimester!

Yes, midwife will prob do bloods (including for iron levels) at your booking appointment. But it is very very normal to be completely wiped out in the first trimester! For me it really shifted at about 14/15 weeks, both pregnancies. And then came back after about 33 weeks both times. Much nicer with DC1 when I could nap...

Hi there! Congrats on your pregnancy! I sure have been, I went through several stages of it, I felt super tired in the first trimester and could have honestly fallen asleep at my desk! As this is my first pregnancy I have the luxury of getting an hours hap when I get in from work 😁 It sort of went away for a few weeks in the second trimester then BAM it's come back again with vengeance in my third 😴 😴 all my bloods came back normal, my midwife even complemented how good my iron levels were, so it's just the joys of pregnacy! Good luck with everything :3
