What to get for baby to sleep in downstairs?

Just wondering if anyone has ideas on whether we need anything for baby to sleep in downstairs. We have a cosharing crib for the bedroom so don't have a moses basket.

We wondered whether people use the carrycot from their pram or maybe a padded playmat? My mum said we all slept in bouncer chairs, but I've read that they're not safe for sleeping.

I got a cheap Moses basket and stand, DD did spend a lot of time napping in her bouncer chair though.

I used the carry cot from the pram. Or you could get a spare Moses basket. Or if your in Scotland, use the baby box. In reality after the first few weeks baby just slept on me! Bouncy chairs aren’t really safe for sleeping, definitely not for newborns.

We use the bassinate from the pram as our was suitable for overnight sleeping.

We used a carry cot with a stand. Was great - luckily for us LO did actually like sleeping in it!

I used the pram for sleeping downstairs. Dd hated the Moses basket.

We just used a cosy blanket on the floor until she was old enough to have naps in her cot upstairs - we don’t have another child or pets etc though.

I used the carrycot from the pram with my first and mosses basket with my 2nd.

We have a travel cot downstairs. Use it as a changing table too and later as a playpen

We use a Sleepyhead for daytime naps, it's very portable so handy for taking to other people's houses should the need arise. We never bothered with a Moses basket, am quite glad as looking at most of them DD would have outgrown it within a matter of weeks. We got the Scottish baby box but the box is huge so not ideal if space is tight (or if like me, you have dogs who kept trying to eat it).

DD had a baby nest for supervised napping. This will be controversial, but I am seriously contemplating a new dog bed with a fleecy blanket in for the next one. Again, can I emphasise supervised napping only, before anyone gets laid into me.

I'll be using the Scottish baby box, it's a bit bulky but will do the job. If I didn't have this I'd use the pram carrycot.

I got a baby box for 'free' from an advert on Facebook. Only problem was the closest place to collect it was over an hour away so I paid £6 to get it delivered. So worth it. My lb is 4 weeks old and sleeps for longer in it downstairs than his Moses basket upstairs!

With my dd I had no pets or other children to think of so she slept on Blankets on the floor flat but with this lo because I've a dog this time round and another child who can be rather boisterous he'll be going in his carrycot on the pram for day time naps.

One thing I was funny with ours was daytime naps was pram then after 7pm put to crib. But my pram was old fashioned one with vent mattress. A bed on wheels as sil’s h called it.

Ds favoured me as a place to sleep downstairs. Both of my dc slept in the bouncy chair if that's where they happened to fall asleep. Our pram carry cot could be used but they never took to it.

You can get bouncers that lie flat I have one and it’s great and she’s loves it. There are a few to choose from: tiny love rocker/napper, kinderkraft 3 in one rocker etc

Mine mostly slept on me or in a wrap. If you have a carry cot, that's fine too. Or a cushion or mat on the floor. Mine also occasionally napped in the bouncer chair while I needed to be hands free to express, but never more than one nap a day (I would consider it similar to a nap in a car seat, which most babies have anyway when you go out in the car). I was always there with her for naps anyway.

We have a sleepyhead. Then at night we can carry the whole thing upstairs and put it in the snuzpod without waking him up.
