Dying hair in pregnancy?

Hi ladies I’m 19 weeks pregnant and thinking about getting my hair dyed. On nhs website it says there’s little evidence to suggest it could harm baby, what are your thoughts on dying hair when pregnant? Should I wait till I’m further along?

If I dyed my hair I would continue on the NHS advice tbh. They know more than me! 😁

So long as you're not bleaching the scalp I think you're fine.

I was getting full-head highlights every 6 weeks in pregnancy. No problems

You'll be fine, just make sure you have a patch test before as you may find you react differently to how you did before pregnancy.

Didn't even occur to me to think about not dying it Confused my colour did come up different though and hairdresser said its not uncommon in pregnancy so something to consider

In the book Expecting Better Emily Oster reviews the evidence on this in detail and there is is basically no good evidence of any risk. If you think about it if there was any risk at all with hair dye hair dressers wouldn't be able to work when they are pregnant. I am extremely risk averse and I wouldn't have a problem with hair dye.

I did it at 21 weeks, based on NHS guidance and babies being so far along.

I dyed my hair from 12 weeks onwards, I now have a perfectly healthy 14 week old. As NHS website and other research papers say, no firm evidence of any harm. Go for it OP!
