Hi anyone else reaching the end of there pregnancy and are more than ready to meet their baby?
I was 38 weeks yesterday and just keep thinking is every little twinge the start of something!
It's my second baby, I was induced with my first so hoping to natural this time round.
Midwife said baby's head is right down so I'm hoping it won't be long now.

@user1493721527 oh your playing my tune! I am only 36 weeks though so I do need to make it to 37 so I can birth in the birth center.

Head down this end too and they say that's the best sign for thing s to come. How are you feeling generally? How old is your other child? Mine is nearly 8 so in school all day, which means I should be definitely packing my maternity unit bag...but cant seem to do it for some reason.

Are you having yours at home or in the hospital? Being pregnant is mega boring isn't is! bring on those babies Smile

I'm exhausted to be honest keep getting period type pains and back ache but never leads to anything 😢 and my 1st is only 18 months old so I'm drained from looking after him, this pregnancy wasn't planned but I will happy to have them so close together, how are you feeling? My bags are all packed ready for hospital but I only did it last week 😂 I'm planning to have mine in hospital? How about you? Do you no if your having a boy or a girl? X

8 years apart is certainly different from 18 months Grin you must be absolutely exhausted! We had such a large break because we were only 22 when I had her.

I'm being such a sloth and I am basically a lady of leisure most days as I wasn't working and broke up from my MSc a few weeks back now.
We are having another girl, are you having a girl too?

You honestly must be dead on your feet, feel free to moan here though, I love a good pregnancy moan thread on mumsnet! It gives me an excuse to feel like being so lazy at the moment is 'ok'.

What's your actual due date? You are so close but I bet another 2 weeks seems like 2 months. These days drag so much don't they

I'm 38 weeks and being induced at 39 weeks so have another 6 days to get this baby out before then! I have been walking and on bouncy ball but nothing is getting him started!

I am 41 weeks pregnant with my first and have tried absolutely everything to no avail! So tired, bored and uncomfortable now.

I'm 38 weeks also. I'm so ready for baby to arrive. I've had the same sort of dull aches but nothing that I'd call a proper contraction. Ive also got a lot of baby banging her head on my cervix! I've not lost my plug yet either so I don't feel super hopeful!

38 weeks here and wondering when I am going to get a rest. On maternity leave now, have four other children, and DP has had flu for the last 2 weeks. He is better now and thought he may manage to cook a meal tonight... came downstairs just now to say he has a headache and feels sick... right fed up here!

39 weeks plus 3, my boys were 6 days late and 4 days late, they're 3.5 and just turned 2 😫 so fed up!! I have got spd and feel constantly sick, not been leaving the house recently either. I too keep looking into every twinge and hoping it's going to be it 😂😂 at least we're all close now ❤️

Yes I'm having a girl this time I've got a little boy already so one of each will be perfect, my due date is the 19th of February, is anyone else due on that date?? The end of pregnancy is such hard work, can hardly move, constant trips to the toilet! Uncomfortable! I can't wait till my little one is here, I bet your all feeling the same especially if your over due! I've got midwife on Friday but hoping I come before then 😂 how early can you request a sweep etc will they do it before my due date or do they wait? I can't remember with my first as I was 2 weeks late and was induced so everything seems different this time round x

I'm due 16th Feb and so ready for my baby boy to be here now too!! Baby's head is down and I keep getting cramps and the odd pain but nothing ever seems to come from it. I'm ready to have my body back now and just meet my little boy

This is my second too, my daughter came on her due date! She's six now so I do get the luxury of during the day to myself whilst she's in school now that I've finished for maternity

I no how you feel every twinge you think might be the start of something but it never amounts to anything, and my little boy is so full of energy bless him but that's his age, I suppose if he was at school it would be easier but he's not so I don't get a break, I came of on maternity at 32 weeks I work nights and was struggling. Are you all ready for baby's to arrive or have you still got bits to do?

@user1493721527 I can see why you'd finish at 32 weeks with such a young one and nights too. I finished work at 36 weeks but it was a struggle, baby brain seems to have really taken over this time round and I'm really emotional too. I'm ready for him to arrive now. Packed my hospital bag last week and I've bought the essentials needed for his first few weeks. I've not gone mad on clothes and that because I know family will wind up buying those for him. Are you ready for your little one to arrive? With regards to the sweep my midwife made it clear she won't do one until after my due date, others may be different though

I'm the same Kimmy, ftm, 41 weeks and have tried everything! Walking, spicy food, ball bouncing, breast pumping, sex, clary sage in the bath and diluted on the bump, all for nowt. I know from an internal on Sunday the cervix is still posterior and very high Sad

Have a consultant app tomorrow where we are going to agree to the propess but not a sweep (I have strep b and don't want to risk bacteria getting in there). She's happily bouncing around in there atm, unaware she's about to get her marching orders!

Glad I’m not alone! I’m 38+3 and can’t sleep! Have a 3 year old who thankfully is still in preschool 3 days so can nap in the day but I just want a decent night.
Feeling ready but not ready- barely had time to think about this pregnancy but would also like my lung and stomach capacity back!

I think we all need a good winge thought out pregnancy, men don't seem to understand how tiring it is. I'm hoping I'm not late this time round, hoping she will be here soon to be honest. Has anyone tried any of the ways to bring labour on and have you had any luck from it? I've heard nipple stimulation is meant to work but how true are these ideas?

YouBetterWORK · 07/02/2018 13:21

Nipple stimulation is meant to be good, I did it with a breast pump instead of twiddling them about because it got sore. Hasn't done anything for me but a quick Google will tell you it's worked for some people. I guess it's all to do with how close you are anyway, and all of these things can give you a little nudge into labour.

They were pushing for a sweep at today's appointment but I still have that strep b niggle so I declined; would have spent the rest of today worrying and who needs that?! But back in tomorrow for the pessary, just hope the whole 'cascade of interventions' people go on about ending in fetal distress and EMCS doesn't happen! Eeeek Shock

I might give it ago I've got a breast pump so might give it ago,
I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow, yes you don't want to spend the day worrying it's not worth it, hopefully soon you should have your baby. My sister in law had strep b with her last pregnancy she had to have antibiotics I think

My parents are on standby to look after DD should I go into labour, so naturally have arranged to go visit my brother over an hour away this weekend! Might have to keep my legs crossed....Confused
