Hello,
I think I’m around 5 weeks (last period started 21st Dec)
I have sinus and allergy problems, I’ve stopped taking the decongestants as soon as I found out and have also stop taking allergy tablets (cetirizine) but I’m really suffering allergy wise, I can cope with being congested but it’s the watery eyes, runny nose & sneezing that drives me mad
I’ve got my first midwife appt on Thursday should I just hang on till then? 🤧

Has anybody found anything that’s safe and works?

I’ve got a referral to the ENT (Feb last year!!!) but the wait is around 18 months, do you think this might be treated sooner now that I’m pregnant?

I had the exact same thing couple of weeks ago when I was 28 weekish something and I was given piriton by the doctor at the maternity unit in the hosp. My gp confirmed that is the safest option for allergies in pregnancy.

Cetirizine is safe - I took through first pregnancy and have been taking day with current pregnancy.

Beclomethasone nasal spray is also safe.

If you're really determined not to take any drugs Boots have a barrier powder type thing which is surprisingly good BUT its effects go when you blow your nose.

I suffer from allergies all year round and the doctor advised that piriton is the safest to take. I also use beconase nasal spray and eye drops which the doctor prescribed.
Definatley book an appointment with your doctor! Smile
