Insomnia?

I'm 17 weeks and I have no problem going to sleep... But I wake up a few times in the night to go to the toilet and then back to sleep... But the last week or so I've been waking up at 4;30, 5am and not managing to fall back asleep.... It's so annoying! Is this a pregnancy symptom? Is there anything that could help? I do nap now and again in the day and evening maybe cut them out if I can?

I think this is a common enough pregnancy thing. I was like this - first trimester I could sleep the clock round, second trimester I was insomniac and third I was too uncomfortable to get much sleep!!

I was the same, it’s awful isn’t it! I used to put Netflix on and after maybe 2 hours would drift back off again, obviously wouldn’t be ideal if you had work that day! Hope you’re not too exhausted Sad

14 weeks here and last night was the first night since about week 8 that I've managed to sleep through!

Between 3&4 is my usual awake time, falling asleep just before my 5.45 alarm!

Oh it's awful isn't it. Last night I woke at 1,2,3 and then didn't get back to sleep. I want to punch people who say "ooh make sure you're sleeping now before the baby comes and you won't sleep at all!" ...I CANT!

I was the same. It started at conception! I slept through the night again when she was about 19 months. Shock

Same here. It definitely got worse in the last few weeks (now almost 15 weeks). Last night I was awake from 12 until after 3 am. My sleep is very interrupted anyway because my DP snores and my DS still shares our bed and breastfeeds through the night. I have to negotiate kicking DP while trying to not wake DS. Then I need the toilet or feel so hungry I need to get up and eat a banana. Then back to bed where DS - now half awake because DP started snoring in my brief absence - demands to be fed back to sleep. Then the cycle starts all over again. To top it all, last night I heard a noise from the corner of the room that sounded like a rodent eating our walls Shock

I'm 15 weeks and having the same. I wake throughout the night and have to read to get back to sleep. Then my 6 year old is up at 5.30am to start the day... zzzzzz

Keep trying to tell myself it's good practice for when baby is here, but it's making me very grumpy and unproductive at work!

Glad it's not just me. But I know how horrible it is, and it does make me grumpy.

I feel really tired throughout the day, but every night wake up about 3/4am aching and then can't get back to sleep no matter what I do.

I'm 28w on Thurs, and have been like this since about 16w. So can't see it getting any better now!!
