Bleeding whilst 6 weeks pregnant

I'm new to this but I'm hopeful I will get some reassurance at least, or info on others experiences. Found out I was expecting just over a week ago, to then start spotting a few days later Shock ended up in a&e getting an internal (which I'm assuming caused more bleeding) I had a scan the day after 5 and a half weeks which revealed baby in the right place with a heartbeat 🎉 I was so happy. But still have not stopped bleeding analysing every twinge. Phoned pregnancy support twice over the last week and been told the same, to try and rest and it's probably not a miscarriage, no straight answer as to where the bleeding is coming from. I have two children and both 'normal' pregnancy. Also have had no real cramps. Has or is anyone going through the same? I've booked a private scan for two weeks time.

Any reply would be appreciated x

I meant to say the scan revealed I was 5 and a half weeks pregnant

Hi, I haven’t experienced this myself but a lot of people on other threads i’ve been on have experienced bleeding and things have been ok. Try and trust in what the scan and pregnancy support are telling you (I know it’s hard to do) and if are still concerned by Monday maybe try and see if your GP can do blood tests and test your hormone levels, that might reassure you more

I had spotting on and off until about 6 months pregnant and baby was perfectly healthy! Was scary as I had a MC shortly before conceiving my DS. I just made good use of our EPU at the hospital and got checked out if I was worrying. Bleeding seemed to occur around when my period should have been and varied from brown, to red, to clumpy (sorry if TMI). Sounds gross but I photographed any bleeds to show to the dr/midwife at my next appointment for reassurance.

Thanks for your reply's, bleeding hasn't been a lot but enough to use a few pads over the week. I'm trying to not stress but so difficult as we were trying and have never experienced anything like this before. I know nothing can be done if it is a MC but annoying they can't say yes or no.

Appreciate your concerns. I still remember my partner bleeding about 6-8wks in. Our hearts sunk as she had MC about 8months earlier. Now we are parents to a beautiful baby boy! Most likely they would recognise MC in A&E so I wouldnt worry too much. Definitely stop reading online about symptoms & worry about it. This is what we did and it saved our sanity.

I want to enjoy it as much as possible, I think talking to others who have or are going through the same helps. And you are definitely right, googling everything probably makes it worse as no woman is the same or experience the same in any circumstances 🤦🏼‍♀️ so frustrating just waiting it out!

I've bled loads during this pregnancy - two big bleeds at 9 and 11 weeks where I thought I'd miscarried. But also spotting, smaller bleeds, bleeding after sex etc

It was very stressful and upsetting but at every scan the babies were absolutely fine.

Bleeding stopped around 15/16 weeks on all fronts and currently 21 weeks with two healthy little boys.

I bled from six and a half weeks for the next three weeks. It was heavy and crappy for the first few days. My daughter hung on.

That's comforting to read. After the scan she said she couldn't see a reason that the bleeding was to do with the baby, but the final 'but we can't say nothing will happen' is playing over and over in my head. I can not wait for my private scan in two weeks.
