Is there anything that can make me feel better?

Currently 12+4 (dating scan tomorrow) and am really struggling with the nonstop nausea. I’ve tried seabands, ginger sweets, ginger biscuits, ginger drinks, plain crackers, plain crisps - nothing so far has helped please tell me anything that you’ve tried that has helped you!

I had this pretty much my whole pregnancy with DD but —sadistically— sort of enjoyed it because I had 3 miscarriages before her so I liked the reassurance of feeling like shite. Now I’m runnkng after a 2yo as well as working it’s no longer fun :(! I feel like I have the worst hangover ever minus the drink, I haven’t been sick for almost 2w but I’m dry heaving all day everyday. Everything sets me off, being cold, walking into a room that’s a slightly different temperature to the last, yawning, seeing pictures of food, thinking about certain foods - heave heave heave! it’s miserable!!
Please someone give me something that worked for them!

Hopefully no one says meat because I have a full blown meat aversion 🤢

I didn't want to read and run but I feel for you. Everything is making me sick this time round, especially dairy. I have tried everything, ginger water travel bands and everything. I was given some tablets off the doctor which worked for a short amount of time but now they seem to of stopped working. I wish I had something positive to say but when I was like this with my DD it did go away pretty much immediately after delivery, which when your feeling this unwell feels like a lightyear away. X

I feel for you. I used to have Watermelon! I had some almost every morning and it really helped me.

I hope you feel better soon! Thanks

Thanks for replying @rosiecotton I was going to ask my GP for antisickness tabs but my midwife said they only help with stopping sickness and not nausea.
And yes you’re right, I was sick during my c-section and once back on the Ward but that and the SPD disappeared like magic once she was here! Hope I find something that helps before the end this time and hope you get some relief too x

@dippy watermelon and strawberries have been such a huge craving for me but I was sick after watermelon the other week so can’t face it at the moment! I’m living on rice crispies for now! X

I am the same second time around, I am now 31 weeks and still vomiting once a week and spend many morning heaving but what I have found so helpful the past 7 months is nuts, I always carry a bag of them with me and have a big box of mixed nuts and some of those spicy chilli coated ones as this for some reason can't get enough of them but every time I start feeling rough I just have a small handful has been my life saver this pregnancy I am even planning on sticking them in my hospital bag! Hope you find something that helps!

The only things I could keep down when I was pregnant with ds were iced flat coke and popcorn. Totally different with my dd - all I wanted was sugary tea. My mum had terrible sickness and she could only eat bacon and tomatoes.

Crunchy nut cornflakes with ice cold full fat milk.

Cyclizine tablets reduced my nausea, they are an antihistamine and safe to take, do go back to the GP and ask, it could stop the dry heaving etc. Don’t suffer. It’s hormonal so I don’t believe anything else (aside from maybe eating little regular carby snacks, and that doesn’t do much) helps really. I take vitamin B6 as I read that could help, with that and Cyclizine I’ve managed to get through to 15 weeks feeling much more human. Don’t suffer on for months, at least try some medications and see if it helps, it does no harm Flowers

I got cyclizine prescribed. I mainlyad nausea with occassional vomiting but found it helped with both and made me able to function again. Also have a 2yr old so feel ur pain! Melon and ice lollies here....plus dr pepper!

I thought cyclizine helps with nausea too, not just vomiting, so I would ask the doctor about that.

I found helpful....not letting the stomach get too empty, even if you just have a dry cracker or an arrowroot or rich tea biscuit. Trebor softmints, lemonade ice lollies, and royal gala apples peeled and sliced.

Hope you get relief sooner this time round, it is horrid.

Ice lollies all day every day! I'd have one for breakfast and then one every hour if I could get my hands on them!

I've had nausea for most of my pregnancy (vomiting from week 8 to 17) and cyclyzine has definitely helped me, and if you read the NICE guidelines is recommended for both nausea or vomiting in pregnancy, so not sure what you midwife is talking about. Go and see a GP get some.

Only problem I found with the Cyclyzine is that it's main side effect is drowsiness, and at the full dose (3 a day) it turned me into a zombie, which I'm not sure how that would work with a toddler in tow, but you wouldn't have to take the full dose if you found that, even one or two a day would give you some respite form the nausea.

Good luck.
