Eating unhealthy, feel so guilty!

I should feel bad & I do.

I'm 10 weeks & since before Xmas I've eaten so much crap. Chocolate is my downfall.

I face my dinner in the evening & I can't stomach the vegetables (I usually love them).

I just need stories of how you too ate a lot of crap but had a healthy baby.

I have eaten fruit, got nutrients from meat etc but I feel so bad for all the chocolate, crisps etc.

I had hyperemesis. My first pregnancy I ate haribo, and on a good day, mango and breakfast biscuits maybe some rice for the first 4 months. Baby was absolutely fine. Don’t worry they’ll leach all their nutrients from you!

Are you taking your folic acid and a multivitamin?

They're very efficient little parasites, pardon the term. They'll get what they need. It's you that might miss out, hence the multivitamin Smile

I am taking vitamins.

I just imagine when I'm chomping down on a share size Galaxy (no sharing happens), all the sugar flowing to the little bud.

I have no discipline.

Second pregnancy but I just don't feel pregnant, a little nausea here & there, bump already appearing but compared to excitement of first time round it's so different. (just to note, baby was planned & very much wanted)

Another shameful thing is on last pregnancy I had gestational diabetes.

I feel like this time round I'm getting in all the crap before I have no choice to stop.

They filter out an awful lot. Not to sound flippant, but some women ingest much worse. I know how you feel though, I feel guilty about absolutely everything, including what I eat.

The main thing I've been able to stomach throughout my pregnancy has been chocolate, cake and ice cream. I'm now 40 weeks and have a healthy baby waiting to come out. I felt just as guilty as you, but midwife said the same as one of the pp, babies are essentially parasites and will get what they need. Obv if your diabetes test comes back positive this time you'll need to stop, but for now just try not to feel too bad and eat whatever you can stomach

The baby will take all the good and leave you with the bad so you’ll prob feel pretty shocking with too much sugar.

Take some responsibility- carrying a child is a very precious thing if you’re worried about the impact on baby then stop eating so much junk! You can do it and it’s inportant to do so. Have some treats but not a tin full!

Doctor told me until baby is 12 weeks it’s eating from it’s yolk sac and not me. Apparently it’s when the placenta takes over that you provide nutrients. I wasn’t even eating anything because I had HG but all looks good so far.
