Hey everyone I thought I'd start a thread for September babies!

I've found out I was pregnant yesterday which was amazing! I'm a first time mum so I'm new to all of this, conceived cycle 2.

When should I contact GP to confirm pregnancy, has anyone got any advice this early on?

Hi I also found out Christmas Eve! Online it says I’m due 31st August but clear blue says I’m 2-3 weeks. I’m not sure what to do next I’m going to phone GP tomorrow I want confirmation as soon as possible! I’ve been trying since March

It's such a lovely Christmas surprise isn't it! I've been lurking on the conception board for a few months and I've loved seeing everyone's journeys. I also did SMEP this month! I think I'm going to try the GP on Thursday, I live in a small area so it will be flooded after the Christmas break tomorrow! I don't even know where to begin, my due dates been calculated 9th September but that's from the first day of my last period so it's more like 23rd x

Hi all
Congratulations! I found out a few days before Christmas. I'm due September 1st according to the app I've been using. Rang the doctors and they said they won't see me until week 8 when I will have to book straight in with the midwife. I'm in Scotland though so don't know if they do things differently here. Anyway all very terrifying and exciting. It'll be our first so lots to get my head round! X

Congrats @BlueberryClouds! I'm also in Scotland, my mother suffered with Hyperemesis gravidarum and we both also have O- blood so I'm going to ask to speak to someone about Anti D injection etc as I know there are steps I'll need to take but I'm not sure what they are! This is all very surreal and exciting!

Nice to see grads from the conception board on here! Got my BFP on xmas day and due either 5th or 6th September I think. Took 13 cycles to get pregnant, and for the last one I used the fertilette, which I’ll now have to recommend to everyone!

I’m unsure whether to see a doctor in new year. I suffered from folate anemia a couple of years back and had a course of super strong folic acid to sort it out. I’m thinking I should get blood tests to check my levels. My first PG was straight forward except for having severe SPD and ending up on crutches. I’m hoping it won’t come to that.

Ahh yes that makes sense. Good to get in to see a doctor if you have other things to think about. I just have to get a flu jab at some point but will probably just pay for it so I can squeeze it in sooner rather than waiting. Surreal is a good word! Smile
That's an exciting Xmas surprise @dingdongdigerido. Congratulations xx

Congratulations all!!
@Pinkslink17 I went to see my GP when I was around 6 weeks although I believe you can book in directly with the midwife now who you see at 8 weeks. Call the doctors receptionist and see what they say. You're 8 week appt is your booking appt and you discuss family history etc hope that helps.x

Hi I’ve rang my GP surgery this morning but I need to contact midwife directly although there’s no answer this morning so will keep trying. I just want confirmation that the positive result is correct! It seems too good to be true x

The GP won’t give you much in the way of confirmation sadly! With my first I was expecting they’d do a blood test or something. I just told him about the positive tests, we had a little chat to check I was ok with the pregnancy, and I was sent on my merry way until my 8 week appointment.

The doctor explained that modern pregnancy tests have so few false positives that they just take your word for it. However, you should still go if it gives you peace of mind.

Congrats ladies! I'm due to test later this week, but all the signs are there.

If it's a positive, then I'm also due in September!

Thanks Its my first so I’m really anxious about what the right things to do are. I’ve done 9 tests from 3 different brands. 8 were positive and 1 was inconclusive over the past 4 days!

Could anyone recommend any good books to buy please? Possibly about what I should and shouldn’t be doing through pregnancy? Thanks x

Hi,

Can I join, just found out today first time Mum and very luckily conceived in the first month of trying!

I'm currently staying at my in laws and trying to work out how I'm not going to drink now! We all like quite a few bottles of wine with dinners!

Any advise greatly appreciated x

Also I am due 7th September, but that's based on LMP, is that the best way to calculate?

Report
BlueberryClouds · 27/12/2017 18:49

Hi @charlie1234567. Congratulations! Yes I think that's the way the doctors calculate your due date as they can't know when you ovulate. I used the Natural Cycles app to check my temperature while ttc so know when I ovulated but even the app is still adding about 2 weeks on to that date to bring me in line with my last period if that makes sense. X

Mind if I join!

Finally got my bfp today at 8dpo! Frer was negative this morning, then did another in the afternoon with obviously diluted urine and got a light but clear bfp! Due date will be approx 9th sept. Just very anxious as my last 4 pregnancies ended at 7w, 5w, 20w and 5w over the course of the last 18 months!

Welcome everyone! Good to see some familiar names! Just been to the doctors and she was pretty useless, she's basically said not to go back until I can't keep food or water down and had no advice on how to manage it before it gets to that stage! I hope you're all feeling well, I've just submitted my midwife referral form so ill need to wait and see when Im booked in over the next few days. @fia256 Im also due 9th Sept! Am I the only crazy person thats started looking at what I want to buy in a few months time?

I found out this morning and am due 5th September though I already know I need a c section so maybe a week before then - keeping everything crossed it will be early September though as I always think how tiny they are when they start school being born the end of August. Only just 4 years old.

I did a test Boxing Day negative, another test first thing yesterday morning - line showed up after 10 mins. Me and hubby disagreed as I said it’s an evap line, he said it was defo a positive - happy to say he was right on this one occasion! Then did a digital test yesterday lunch time - negative. It was a pack of 2 so thought we might as well use the last one first thing this morning which showed positive 1-2 weeks.

This is now my 4th pregnancy, 2 children already, one miscarriage last year. Keeping everything crossed. Symptoms so far are really bad lower back ache and an itchy scalp???? Never had an itchy scalp with my previous pregnancies so it’s a new one to me lol.

Congratulations everyone :-) roll on September xx

Hi Can I join?

Found out I’m pregnant on Christmas Eve - will be about 4+5 weeks and due date of 1st Sept!

This will be my second child, honestly can’t believe I’ve conceived in our first cycle!

Booked a reassurance scan for 20th Jan at 8 weeks, really pleased I did cos when I booked my first scan today I was given a date when I’m nearly 14 weeks 🙈

Flamingo84 · 28/12/2017 19:49

Hi all! Had 2 positive pregnancy tests today. This will be our first pregnancy and honestly I’m a bit shocked as this was our first attempt. I’m 4 weeks along and my due date will be 5th September.
Anyone else feeling excited, terrified and giddy all at once?!

Haha I remember with my daughter - I just repeated to myself over and over ‘oh my god I’m pregnant’

It didn’t sink in for a while!

I’m also terrified - no idea how I’m going to cope with a 23 month old and a new born. Honestly can’t imagine how it’s gonna work.
