Gender guesses on forward facing ultrasound?

So, I officially find out the gender of our first little Bubb on Saturday but during my 12 week scan we managed to get a couple of forward facing pictures that most of my friends and family have made gender guesses from (most have said girl due to 3 lines visable on the scan). While we realise that a 12 week scan is too early to really be able to tell the gender, it's been fun to make guesses. I suppose I'm just curious to see what people who have had their own scans think and whether anyone had managed to correctly predict the gender of their Bubb on a forward facing scan? Also, can anyone tell which side my placenta is on? I know its posterior but I have no idea what it looks like on an ultrasound or where it is! Blush

Oh yes, I'd definitely say girl! I'm no expert but have had two myself and remember the lines- the "hamburger"! Grin

The 3 lines you can see is the vessels in the heart... The larger one being the aorta.

You cannot see the lower end of the baby whatsoever in those pictures, due to the coronal position that has imaged only the upper part, and therefore it is IMPOSSIBLE to do anything but pluck a choice from the 50/50 chance that already exists.

I do know that the presence of three lines shows a female, though...I saw it on my own scan...obviously in a different position!

I’m going to guess boy, simply because it looks quite like my front facing scan with DS. This time I’m having a girl and the jaw is much more narrow with a pointy chin Smile I’m just guessing of course!

No I was not able to determine the sex of either of my DC from their scans.
