Really pains me to type this but i got baf news at a private scan on sat. Baby had fluid in her abdomen. Told me to go to hospital. Consultant scanned me there but couldn't determine the cause. Asked me to go back in yesterday. At the scan they found a hernia at the cord insertion site with bowels possibly joined to it. Had to get amniocentisis (agony) as this can be a sign of chromosome deformities. 2 of which are not survivable. Im in an absolute mess. Cant stop crying. If i get the worst news from the results then i will probably need a termination. I am devastated

OP I'm so sorry you're going through this, how long do you have to wait before you get the results? Did they give you any other options if it's not a chromosomal abnormality?

So sorry to read this. How far along are you? If your Consultant hasn’t already, I’d really recommend getting in touch with Antenatal Rights & Choices. They have a helpline you can call for a listening ear during this horribly uncertain time. Sending you lots of strength x

@thomasrichard thank you still so worried. Waiting for microarray results which take 2 weeks. Another scan on 13th when consultant and surgeon will be there to check how baby can progress. Not getting my hopes up x
