Hi All!
Currently 8 weeks and wondering at what point did you all start to show?
I'm feeling like my ever so loved skinny jeans will soon need a much more comfortable waist band haha! I feel so bloated all the time but when will this bloat turn to bump?
TIA Flowers

People said for me it was 18 weeks ish but I thought I looked like I ate far too .any cakes and looked pregnant at 28 weeks. 36 now and bump isn't massive so it depends on the person.
My sister is 26 weeks and looks like she has a carnival going on in there and has for ages...
It just depends on the person / baby.
Started buying bigger clothes / mat gear after 16 weeks

I didn't start to show until after 20 weeks properly, I could tell myself there was a bump forming but I could hide it easily! The proper bump started to form after this time, but it's different for everybody!

With my first I went thick a around my waist at around 8-9 weeks. No bump until much later though

I am exactly the same BabyBear

8 weeks and feel like skinny jeans and just a bit too skinny now but realistically not big enough to wear maternity jeans. Annoying because my normal jeans still fit everywhere else just feel like I’m breathing in to button them up.

I remember my sister in law doing a trick with a hair band on the button of her normal jeans so that she didn’t have to do them up properly. I’m sure if you googled hair band jean button you’d find it!

Thank you everyone!
So around 20 weeks seems to be most common! I might have to invest in some roomier jeans hahah!

I was in the inbetween stage for ages; until 16-18 weeks my maternity jeans would fall down but my tighter ones had to be retired quite early on. I didn’t have a clear bump until 20ish weeks though

I think around 22-23 weeks with my first (and currently only) pregnancy.

Around 20 weeks, before that I just looked bloated

I was in maternity jeans at 12 weeks, by 20 weeks someone commented 'not long now'. Everyone's different.

I was bloated pretty much the whole first trimester. Pregnant with my second and I started to show around 18 weeks. With my first was around 20/21 weeks

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and still waiting for my proper bump to appear.
I just look bloated at the moment still, and like I have eaten a few too many cakes. Ha.
It's still really easy to hide my "bump" at the moment.

Midwife said as it is my 1st, is a boy and due to my tilted womb I may be quite late with developing a proper bump.
I really don't mind either way, as long as the baby is growing ok in there!!

I bought a size up in leggings just in case, but still find actual maternity clothes way too big for my bump.

My friend on the other hand is about 16 weeks now, and looks ready to pop. So I guess it really does depend on the person.

Yup I'm like @TheMogget
Got big early on, and now at 19 weeks have a very obvious bump, people are always surprised and make unnecessary comments when I say I'm not due until April Grin

From very early on tight waist bands were hideously uncomfortable but I didn’t show until just before 20 weeks, I’m quite slim (BMI wavering around 18) so there wasn’t anywhere for the baby to hide and my abdominal muscles separate badly (this was for baby no.2) so nothing to hold the bump in properly.

First at around 20/21 weeks.

I bought some maternity jeans at about 10 weeks as I had a long flight and couldn't stand the waistband digging in. I've had to sew elastic into the back of them though to stop them falling down! (They are the most comfortable things I own though and I never want to take them off!!)

I was extremely bloated in the first trimester and couldn't fit into my jeans. Then it kind of disappeared from around 13 weeks and I've only just got a proper bump and bought some maternity jeans at 21 weeks.

I bought a JoJo Maman bump band which I wore with my jeans from around 16 weeks right up until 36 weeks or so. A very good investment!

I didn't tell my colleagues until 22 weeks and no one had noticed at all!

I was similar at 8 weeks due to bloating and used a hair band to help keep me in the skinnies.

I'm 16 weeks now (2nd DC) and have proper bump and fit well into maternity jeans.

Each time for me I limped along to the 12 week scan and then fully embraced maternity clothes. Most normal tops are still fine, I just look a bit plump in them

With my first, I didn't show until about 20 weeks. With my second, I was showing by 18 weeks. With the third, I had a definite bump by 13 weeks. With the current one, I'm at 9+4 and I have a definite bump already and I'm wearing maternity leggings because even going up a couple of sizes in jeans was still too tight and uncomfortable.

With my first, I was so bloated, I looked really pregnant from 8 weeks, by the time the bloat went away around 14 weeks, I was starting to show. I was pretty small my whole pregnancy (only gained 16lbs total), but I just seemed to pop really early. This time with my second, I was in my normal jeans until 16 weeks, so much later, even though I've gained more this time. So I think it's so variable.

Not till very late on. The first person to notice who didn’t already know was around 36 weeks. Even with second and subsequent. Lots of people didn’t realise I had had a baby with my second as due to the time of year they didn’t really see me for the last month of two of pregnancy. Odd really.

Most of my friends show much earlier and get lovely bumps. I just look thicker and lose my waistline. I’m normally a size 10-12 so I’m not sure where they hide. I remember standing next to a woman in Tesco and we both had the same sized bumps, each with a hand on it, so we exchanged pleasantries, she said, look at us a matching pair, how far along are you? I was 38 weeks, she was 16 weeks. The bra fitters in m&s refused to fit a nursing bra for me telling me to come back later in my pregnancy - I was overdue....

16-17 weeks with my first. 30 weeks with this pregnancy. I prefer to wear jeggings in the next size up instead of maternity jeans because they can feel a bit big and baggy.

I'm 14 weeks and in maternity trousers...they have plenty of room to fill but definitely showing an obvious bump

Report
emvy · 29/11/2017 12:23

I was in leggings and even ditched my skinny jeans for a pair of jeggings in a size up at 8 weeks as the bloating was really uncomfortable with any pushing on my tummy! Fast forward to week 11 and I had a little bump so was relieved after the 12 week scan to be able to buy maternity wear. Now at 20+5 I'm very obviously pregnant. First baby but am very slim so could be why. There are so many factors that influence when you get a bump and how you will show!
