Could this be the start of labour?!

Hey all! Today is my due date. It’s my first baby so reallly do not know what to expect when it comes to labour. I do believe I lost my mucus plug this morning and an hour later I have a constant period pain at the bottom of my bump. Could this be the start or am I wishful thinking! I just want to meet her now!

Sounds like it could be! Everybody is different though I guess the first signs I had was tightening of my bump then regular though very far apart light period pains for a good while. Try to relax though, the early stages of labour can take aaaaaaaages! If you feel unsure of anything ring your local MAC they were so helpful when I was in labour 🙂

Sounds like it to me. That's how mine started with period like pains!

SparklingSnowfall · 23/11/2017 10:25

I’ve just had a hot bath which felt like it helped but as soon as I got out the pain came back but I’m going to take my dog for a walk round the block! I reallly really hope this is it, feels like I’ve been pregnant forever!

This is what it felt like for me. I had a bath and then walked my dog ... and a few hours later had a baby. If you can, have a brisk walk, get things going! Keep us updated xx

I’m back from my walk, put dinner on for tonight sat down and my hips and back are starting to ache too! So fingers crossed! 😁🤞 so scary when you don’t know what to expect!

Sounds positive to me - good luck!

I’m due tomorrow... been loosing plug for last 24 hours after having a sweep on Tuesday, so fingers crossed something may be starting this end!

bettydraper31 · 23/11/2017 14:06

Definitely sounds like it! Exciting!

Mine went from my back to my tummy and then back again and so on and so forth! Good luck! X

GlitteryFluff · 23/11/2017 14:09

trevthecat · 23/11/2017 14:11

All sounds promising! I had my 3rd 6 weeks ago and it started like This! Good luck

Lr24 · 23/11/2017 14:44

Sounds positive. This happened with my first op, regular tightening then I went a walk and it stopped. I went to hospital the next day as I had high blood pressure, came home and waters went.

Good luck, hopefully not too long now 😄

Lr24 · 23/11/2017 15:02

I hope so! Waiting around and not knowing is the worst!

DeadDoorpost · 23/11/2017 15:14

I was due on Sunday 19th and had those pains for about 2 weeks on and off. Had a stretch and sweep last night though so hopefully I'll be moving along soon.

And hopefully you'll be on your way soon too! The waiting is a nightmare!

Lr24 · 23/11/2017 15:23

Oh my god! Good luck hope things move quickly for you!

Aw no! Have you been offered sweep?

I was late with my first 2,have you tried the stuff recommended to get things going? Nothing helped with my 2nd 😑

Fingers crossed you get some niggles soon, only time we wish pain on ourselves. Haha.

Lr24 · 25/11/2017 17:43

Hello everyone thought I’d update you. Today I had a sweep and and examination and I’m 4cm dilated already just not in activate labour so those pains were doing something. Midwife hopes to see me again tonight or tomorrow after having the sweep so fingers crossed! 🤞

Had cramps 5 minutes apart for 3 hours early hours of this morning, took some paracetamol.. fell back asleep woke up and now nothing again 💀😭 I hate all this! X

@Lr24 similar... got up with the toddler at 5, then back to bed, started getting weird back ache on and off for an hour or so, combined with tightenings, felt like I desperately needed to go to the loo (lots of pressure) but couldn’t go, back carried on then eventually fell asleep again. Still getting tightenings and waves of back ache but who knows. Not getting any hopes up...

Walked 4 1/2 miles yesterday and DTD last night, got another sweep tomorrow.
