Double buggy advice

Hi, I’m currently pregnant with DC2, when the little one is born DS will be 19 months. I’m baffled by choice of double buggies, just got back from Center Parcs where lots of people seemed to have side by side ones. Does anyone have any tips on which ones are good/to avoid? Any help appreciated!

For ds 1&2 I had a cosatto duo or something side by side which was ok but the seats were narrow, footmuff small and it broke one day just began folding up with the dc in it. you also couldn't access the basket when the seat was reclined.
Then I had the icandy pear which I loved, roomy and sturdy and could be used as a single, but I did once pop a tyre making it unusable and had to call my step dad to pick us up.
I currently have dd (16 month) and newborn ds3 in a Britax b dual. So far is good but dd is big for her age and is getting too big for the seat and straps and there is pretty much no basket space in double mode. It can be a single too

I'll have a similar age gap when this one shows up. I prefer side by side too. I've gone for the mountain buggy duet as it's the narrowest side by side, it's as wide as a wheelchair so fits through all normal doors. I've built it and it looks great so will have to wait and see I guess.

The new silver cross wave looks lovely! My friend swore by her bugaboo donkey, as did my sister about her out and about double.

Best bet might be to go to a pram shop with DS and get a feel for what you like while pushing him around for some idea of how the prams move once there's weight in them. Oh and to see if they fit in your boot! I've only got a single but really should have taken my own advice there!

I have an 18mo gap and had the Mountain Buggy Duet. Lots of people swear by it but I hated the lack of parent-facing (despite claims otherwise, there is actually no parent-facing option for under 6mo, there is a carrycot but v. small) and I regretted not getting a bugaboo donkey.

I bought the Mountain Buggy new. If I had my time again I would get a second-hand Donkey. I didn't use the double for very long- after 7 or 8 months DS1 walked most places or rode on the back of the single buggy.

My elder two are 18 months apart. I've had a city select and a baby jogger elite double which is a discontinued side by side. I liked the city select for the first year because both could face me. After the combined weight was more than 50lbs it was too hard to push far and the elite double saved me.

The other tandem is the uppababy vista but the rumble seat is only good to 35lbs. The buggyboard is good though.
