Hey all

Im absolutly driven mad with an all over body itch...its driving me absolutly bonkers. Ive had in and out of the shower all day to get relief but now i think ill need to take something. I rang the pharmacist who said it was fine to take then i googled which said best try to avoid.

Did anyone here take piriton?

My liver function tests are all normal btw so no worries there

I got stung by a wasp at about 14 weeks pregnant - rang the GP who said antihistamine cream or hydrocortisone cream were both OK to rub on, but not to take oral antihistamines like piriton.

I got prescribed them for allergies to my cats, he said piriton was safe to take. It really seems to depend on who you ask as different healthcare professionals have different views on them!

Unfortunately portion won’t help with obstetric itching as it is not usually caused by the hormone histamine. It might make you too sleepy to care about the itching though!
