16 week midwife appointment

Hi all, a bit of a late post but I have my 16 week midwife appointment this afternoon and I just want to know what to expect.
My antenatal care hasn't been too great so far. My booking appointment was rushed because they didn't book a long enough slot apparently. And I haven't even met my midwife because she's been on leave so I'm meeting her today.
This is my second pregnancy but I can't remember my appointments with my last pregnancy three years ago, because my midwife was so supportive I just never felt worried. Now I feel like I'm having to ask for attention. Like I called my midwife so many times to get today's appointment, I'm just doing all of the chasing.
She's asked to come to my house for the appointment but I just wanted to know what she should be doing so I can make sure she dies! Thanks

Urine, blood pressure, attempt to hear heartbeat.
A load of chat about twenty week scan, movement, your emotional health...

And that's it. I think.

You're normally given blood test results as well, though if anything was abnormal you would have heard already. Also if you need any further referrals these are discussed at this appointment.

Blood pressure, wee sample and some areas listen in to heartbeat. They'll check whether you've had your flu jab and tell you about whooping cough jab also.

Think that's about it until 20+ weeks? Again not sure if some areas differ.

Good luck, I do think the midwives as so stretched (not that that's an excuse of course) but think (most) do the best they can. X

I found with my 2nd baby (as everything had been normal previously) they weren't very interested at all. Urine dip, bp and listen to baby. They check all your blood results and book your next appointment.

Mine was blood pressure, urine, pre emptive advice on movements/vaccines/pre eclampsia.

I also had more bloods taken but that was due to some concerns from my booking ones (borderline low iron and fetal dna as I'm rhesus negative).

They don't try to listen to heartbeats until 25 weeks where I am.

I hate the new online system where all your notes are online.... the Hospital do not update it either do you can not see any scan results so if you forget to ask something you can’t look through your notes. I feel for the midwifes as most that I have spoken to in my 34 weeks they have all said they hate it

Thanks for all of your comments everyone.

My midwife turned up, annoyingly almost an hour late. I understand that they are stretched, but I do feel that certain midwives are just more attentive than others.
She checked my blood pressure and talked about next scan etc but didn't do blood tests or take urine sample. She said she would do all those tests at my 28 week appointment which is at the end of January!
She also said she wouldn't usually listen to the heartbeat as they've stopped doing this now, but agreed to check it after I explained how much I would like to listen to it.
So overall it was over fairly quickly.
I guess I'll just have to monitor my pregnancy more closely myself to be safe.
