Hi all. Tomorrow is D-Day and not a twinge 😕. Baby is still bouncing on top of my pelvis, I'm desperate to go into labour soon. I'm willing to try anything at this moment in time.

Here are some off limits:
Hot curries- I'm intolerant
Sex- partner is in the army
Nipple stimulation- my nips are ridiculously sore as it is..
Bounce on birth ball-i don't have one.

Hit me with what you've got ladies 😁

Book an appointment every other day for the next 2 weeks?

Hairdressers
Mani/pedi
Brow appointment
Lash extensions
Etc

At least then if babe is mega late you’ll look fab in the delivery room Wink

Cod liver, and or castor oil can be really dangerous so leave that old wives tale in the 1950’s.
As for sex...sperm helps but not necessary, try just the orgasm part.

Put brand new luxury bed linen on the bed? Waters are bound to go all over them!

Wear your new slippers?

Prep a lovely dinner?

Book a table at your fav restaurant?

Have you looked at the moon cycles and when you fell pregnant? Mine suggested I’d go into labour on the Wednesday and that day it all started.....then stopped 6h later 😂 I’m not woo at all but gave me a laugh

Totally agree with resigning yourself to the wait. I was convinced I'd have a long wait and cried to my husband that baby wouldn't come with induction. And bam, my waters broke!
I also had been for a 5 mile country walk day before and been having clary sage oil baths. Good luck!

Accupuncture? It can induce labour!

You need to find someone willing to give you a foot massage - back of the ankle and inside of the foot and pressure points on the sole of foot. These are the areas avoided in pregnancy massage as it's thought to 'induce labour'.
I told my friend to do it when she was 2 days overdue and probably a coincidence but she had the baby that night x

Go on a train journey. One that stops a lot, not at a station platform but waiting on lights to change in the middle of nowhere. Preferably with terrible mobile reception.

That kicked me off into a very fast labour.

Make plans to do nice stuff. Agree about eyelash and brow tint and shape. Perhaps eyelash extensions. Haircut etc. Is win-win.

How is your walking? Could you go for a long walk (with a friend!)

Report
Lizi192 · 27/10/2017 20:56

I have been walking loads these last couple of weeks. And I can't cope with people touching my feet

So tell me what you’re having done to your hair? Brows? Nails? Etc and how excited you are about your appointments (baby might hear and start getting a wriggle on!)

And please do update when baby is born

Ds came 5 weeks early and I am so convinced it was because of my commute. I recommend spending two and a half hours a day walking and going on trains and tubes and then at the end of the day climbing a massive hill! My neighbour who was doing the same commute (and lives on the same hill) also have birth five weeks early!

Book or plan something really nice, just for you in a couple of days time, baby is blind to arrive before hand.

Have an orgasm, worked with both of mine, DH refused so I just took myself off to bed early! Blush

Can you eat chilli? I had loads of chilli olive oil on salad the day before DS2 arrived.

Raspberry leaf tea. I had some one day and was in labour the next. (Probably coincidence!)

Report
Hazandduck · 28/10/2017 15:29

@scrivette that is my plan if sex with DH doesn’t work Blush It usually speeds up my period starting..maybe it will start my uterus off..But I am 38 weeks today and don’t want baby to come yet, I’m quite happy lounging about reading right now Grin
Good luck OP! This is my first so I’ll be keeping all these suggestions in mind for a couple of weeks time :)
