Brown blood 15 weeks pregnant

I am 15 weeks pregnant and found some brown discharge/blood in my underwear :-(

I had sex last night, could this could be the reason for the blood? I hope it's not baby... I know dark/brown blood is better than fresh red blood.

I have been googling things (Blush) I previously had a cesarean birth and had an anterior placenta. Could these things increase my chances of placenta previa (low lying placenta) and therefore explain why I have had blood after sex?

I'm semi hoping this is the case. Obviously I would rather not have a placenta previa, but I am just hoping the baby is ok in there.

Should I avoid having sex again? I am waiting for a call back from the doctor. They are going to think I am a hypercondriac as I only went in this morning for my son Blush

It's very likely because you had sex, which can irritate the cervix and break blood vessels on the cervix, which are much more swollen and closer to the surface in pregnancy. It's pretty normal. If it's stopped and it was only a tiny bit, especially if you can feel baby moving, I wouldn't worry about it. I've had heavy bleeding in all of my pregnancies because of my cervix, literally gushing, running down my legs bleeding (not because of sex, I don't have sex in pregnancy for this reason or I'd be bleeding all time). It's very common and as long as it's stopped and you otherwise feel fine, it's probably nothing, but no harm in getting in checked if you are concerned. No need to avoid sex if you don't want to, and no placenta previa is random so no reason to believe you have it (I've never had it in any of mine, despite all the bleeding). It's very unlikely the bleeding is coming from your uterus.

Hi mindutopia gosh poor you that sounds scarey.

It was very short and gentle sex so a little strange, but yes definitely possible. I haven't had blood before, or in my previous pregnancy so it was a bit of a shock. I'm not sure i have properly felt baby yet, but hopefully soon.
