Measuring small-What to expect

Hi guys, at 37week I went to hospital for a routine check and doc said I measured 36cm, today, at 38+5 I went to the midwife and she says I'm still measuring 36cm. I have been booked in for a growth scan in 2 days (I'll be dot on 39week). Baby's heart is strong and moving loads.. she's still resting on top of my pelvis (not begun to engage).

I guess my question is...Has anyone else had this and everything been okay or has doctors needed to interfere in some way?

I should add...up until the 37week check my measurements have been spot on

I was measuring about 8 weeks behind towards the end of my pregnancy and had to have two scans. She had just found a nice cosy spot to nestle into which made my bump tiny! She was born at 38+5 weighing 6lb7oz, so not small at all!
Try not to worry, it's just procedure to get it checked

Measuring isn't exact, I measured perfectly right the way through and had I daughter who was 6lb 4 oz and the second was 8lb 9 oz! Try not to worry.

I've been "measuring small" all along , according to the pointless tape measure test.

I've been sent for two growth scans and had one this week. My 40 week baby is 8lb apparently! He's just very curled up because I have a short body so the tape measure is showing nothing of value.

Please try not to worry op , chances are that everything is absolutely fineSmile

I had this this week. Saw a different midwife on Monday who measured me at 33 when I should have been 36. Had a growth scan yesterday & baby is still tracking on 50th centile as she was when I had a scan at 30 weeks to check placenta position. Movements & heartbeat absolutely fine.

DS measured spot on the whole way through & was 9lb9 so it's definitely not exact!

Hope you're scan goes well.

Thankyou everyone. Really put my mind to rest 😁 I'm ready for baby to make her appearance any time but I would much rather it be in her own time than with doctors interfering.

Hey guys, I had the scan done, turns out midwife was completely wrong and baby is actually measuring a little bit big 😁

I cannot believe NHS is relying on tape measurements in 2017!
