Pregnancy

Anyone else have ZERO appetite!?

I'm 5 weeks pregnant and with my last two (ended sadly in MC) I was constantly hungry. This time around I feel so nauseous and have absolutely no appetite - I'm having to force food down my neck but I'm only taking in about 1000 cals at most. This is coming from someone who usually considers an all-you-can-eat-buffet a light snack Grin

Is this normal and when do you start getting hungry again!? I'm taking parental vitamins and everything I am forcing is healthy. Not sure what else to do. Many thanks!

I was like this around 5-6 weeks. Now at nearly 8 weeks I'm pretty hungry but it really varies day by day. Most days the idea of food is grim but I've got into the habit of eating anyway and I'm finding I can push through the nausea and it's ok. I am definitely feeling fuller more quickly and eating smaller portions though - but I'm a bit overweight so that is no bad thing!

I was like this with both my pregnancies, in fact I was lighter (very overweight to start with tbh) at the end of pregnancy than I was before I got pregnant.
My appetite never returned during pregnancy I’m afraid to say either, I didn’t have any cravings or anything.

Mine only comes back sometimes and I'm 35 weeks. Still weigh less than I started off as. I also have had no cravings and a load of food aversions.

Eating anyway and pushing through the nausea is the only way to deal with it, IME. The less you eat the worse you feel.

I rarely have any appetite during pregnancy. I usually have to drink high calorie drinks to try to keep going as eating often makes me feel really unwell.

I have no appetite but my body gets hungry if you know what I mean. I don’t want to eat but I get shaky and feel crappy if I don’t. It’s not fun. I’m 20w at the weekend and so far I’m the same weight as I was pre pregnancy. I’m a few stone overweight though so I’ve got plenty of reserves and baby boy is growing fine so far.

Eat what you can even when you dont feel like it. Should it just be a couple of rich tea biccies and some tea or water. Or a wee bowl of cornflakes. Don't let yourself get hungry as it's a trigger for sickness. Forget the big portions for now, little and often. And chew thoroughly. I find that really helps as your digestive system will be a lot slower due to the hormones.

Thanks so much for your replies, I'm glad to know it's not just me, hoping it'll return at some point but I've never not enjoyed eating! Glad to hear is didn't affect the pregnancies. I'm about 2 stone overweight so I suppose it's not the worst thing!
