Woke up with period pains and associated symptoms

I'm 29 weeks pregnant and have just woke up with period like pains. I've got my normal period symptoms of achey legs and upset tummy too.

Do you think this is braxton hicks? Is this what actual labour is going to be like?

If you are worried, I would give your local maternity unit a call and explain what is happening. Although, I didn’t think Braxton Hicks felt like period pain, I think they just felt like tightenings...kind of hard to explain. I think contractions do feel like period pains but your belly is getting tight at the same time so like ten times worse.

Thanks, the pain started to ease after a couple of hours and managed to get back to sleep. Have woke up this morning and am back to normal except lose bowels which is the complete opposite of how I've been this whole pregnancy.

Not sure whether to call as the pain has gone, don't want to be a worrying nelly.

Please don't worry about worrying and being perceived as a pest.
If you have any concerns it is always best to go and get checked. You might have a stomach bug, it might be something pregnancy related you don't know.

Give them a ring and explain they will likely tell you to come in

Call them, it's their job to answer these questions! I've called a few times with minor questions that I thought could be more major. I recently called about losing my plug at 35 weeks and they reassured me and also gave me some direction on what I might expect in the next few weeks.

Thanks ladies, I called this morning and although they didn't say what it was, they did say that as the pain had gone and movement wasn't reduced they weren't worried.

No further pains at all today so hopefully just a one off.
