Pregnancy

Normal at 17 weeks?

It feels like my bump has got noticeably larger over last three days or so! I have also had the usual slight breathlessness, uncomfortable after eating etc

I saw midwife on Friday and she felt my tummy so I'd have thought she'd have noticed anything majorly awry but I've read about polyhydramnios and panicking now as it can indicate skeletal or structural disorders, both of which we're high risk of after high nuchal translucency at 12 weeks

Was anyone else properly showing/feeling the discomfort this early? I'd associated breathlessness and discomfort after eating with third trimester but would be happy to find it is a usual sign of healthy pregnancy! Got two weeks to wait unti next scan

Yes, completely empathise with you!

Breathlessness and very tired. Bump all of a sudden announcing its presence and the inability to enjoy much to eat before feeling really uncomfortable even though you're still hungry!

Well that's been me from about 16 ish weeks anyway.

Try not to worry - if she expected your bump was far too big for how far gone you are, she would have picked it up straight away. Easier said than done when pregnant though! I'm 26 weeks with DS2, all these sorts of symptoms come and go - not to be rude either but my bump is much bigger if I haven't been to the toilet in a few days Smile if you are still concerned, give your community midwife a ring, they are always there for you.

I saw a noticeable change between 16 and 17 weeks. It sounds like you've just popped, that's all. I was in my normal jeans at 16 weeks and by 17 weeks couldn't really fit in any of my usual trousers anymore. I definitely notice I feel bigger some days than others and I think actually it's usually gas and constipation to blame. When all that passes (literally, lol), I feel much more normal. But I definitely thought I seemed big as well. Finally, at 20 weeks, I googled '20 week bump' and looked at photos of other people at 20 weeks. I'm a perfectly normal size. It's just the sudden change from feeling normal and no bump, to popping and having a bump made it all seem more noticeable, but all this is really normal for this stage.
