Slight cramping is it normal?

I'm roughly 5-6 weeks pregnant and today I have had on and off mild cramps.
The slightest little pain I panic as I had my 5th mc in August.
Last week I also had a sharp pain shoot inside my privates only lasted a second or two. Am I over panicking .

Mild cramping is very normal, as your baby implants your uterus is growing and everything is stretching. Nothing to be concerned about unless there's bleeding. I also get random shooting pains too :)

Well you're not over panicing as anyone would panic after what you've been through. And you know the answer really is that we do not know. I certainly had mild cramping/stretching with ds2 and like you was worried as I'd had previous mcs. But all was well, and I really hope you have the same result. Are you on treatment for the rmcs? Aspirin or anything? Sometimes taking some kind of treatment can help put your mind at rest too.

Thank you for your replies. No I don't have any treatment for the mmc's.
I am very scared of the slightest pain or cramp.
The cramps I'm getting is just like an annoying cramp. Not painful at all. And it's across the whole of my gut not at one side. I am do hoping for this pregnancy to go well. X

Totally understand why you're worried with your history - are you having an early scan due to history of mc? x

But you've had investigations to see if there's a cause? Things that were recommended to me that couldn't do any harm - vit D3, lots of us are deficient in this. Definitely folic acid. Lots of people are put on baby aspirin (to do with blood clotting, available in chemists) but I would personally seek medical advice before taking it. Does your area have an EPU? (Sadly I assume you've very familiar with it). I think you need more than the normal pg care available. Good early care can (strangely) help with positive outcomes for women pg after mc.
The problem is so many things normal in a successful pg also happen in one that ends in miscarriage. I have bled in all pgs, and had pains in them all too - was completely convinced I was losing dc2 due to pain, had a reassurance scan and saw he was still fine, and the pains stopped! Our understandable anxieties don't help.
Are you on the recurrent mc thread on here?
