Hi, I’m very anxious about being pregnant full stop I’ve posted before and I’m going to counselling for it. There’s one thing that cropped up, I seem to have been scared of eating the wrong foods throughout my pregnancy so far, I’m 23 weeks, I hadn’t realised until a couple of days ago when I more or less cremated a pork chop then I was still worried for two days that I’d not cooked it properly. I’ve emailed companies before when tins/jars don’t say pasteurized on them. It’s so tiring. Is anyone else like this or is it just me?

I would suggest buying a digital probe thermometer to help with telling if meat is cooked. Google expected temperatures for the meat and probe it when you think it is ready. That means you can be sure it's cooked properly.

Sorry I can't help with your other anxieties.

If you're that anxious then you are probably being far more cautious than most people and most people are fine. So try and reassure yourself that you are being safe. We're bombarded with info to scare the wits out of us. But chances are with high general standards of food hygiene and general hygiene in our wolrd that you'll be absolutely fine.

To keep anxiety down, try and cook your own food from scratch as much as possible, never reheat food, and stick to safe foods. And listent o your body. It'll tell you what it craves and what is safe. When I was pregnant red meat, coffee, tea and wine all smelle dlike poison to me, I couldn't touch them. I lived on steamed fish and steamed veg. Your body will know what it needs, so just give it the safest, healthiest, most hygenic version of whatever it craves.

You'll be fine. I had this at the start but like my mum said she ate everything and anything back when she had me and my sister's and we were all fine. I always make sure my meat is cooked properly and I don't like shellfish anyway or seafood so
