Anyone else? I know I'm an early bird. BFP yesterday and today (AF was due today)

Already a mix of impatient and freaking eat.

Need to stop googling and reading statistics that stress me out. Hoping I feel a bit more chilled when I get to 12 weeks

Also don't know when to tell family, friends, work. DH and I live (temporarily, but temporarily like the next 6 months) in an annex at my parents so we will see them all the time. Sure my Mum will guess something is up. Best friends? manager? work friends?

Thinking I will end up telling my parents quite soon. but DHs parents, and best friends, say 8 weeks? no way I can wait until 12 weeks I dont think which I know is 'traditional'

its all a minefield to me!

Do I ring the Drs now? wait? Will the DRs care yet?

the questions!

haha. Freaking out*

Although I'm also constantly eating. Should probably curb that. Or I will be the size of a house.

I am sure it's obvious but I should have said, this will be my first....

Congratulations! Flowers

I don’t think you need to make an appointment with the doctors anymore; I think you just tell them you’re pregnant. That’s what you do here, at least! The receptionists take your details over the phone and then the midwife team gets in touch with a booking in appointment.

Re telling people... if you don’t think you can keep it from your parents; you’ll probably need to tell his too. It feels a bit unfair otherwise. Most people wait until after the 12 week scan but there’s no real need to, it just feels safer. Tell people when you’re ready too!

Ah ok. So I ring the docs and just tell the receptionist?

Good point about being fair. My in laws are lovely.

Congratulations!

Here, our gp receptionist makes the appointment with the mw. I called when I was about 5 weeks.

My first pregnancy I only told my parents and siblings. Unfortunately I did have a miscarriage and was glad to be able to tell people in my own time.
I'm 6 weeks pregnant again and currently only me and Dh know.

Hey, I got my bfp yesterday too and due af today. Worked it out to be June 15th. After three MC in a row I'm just hoping this baby will stick. I always get to 12 weeks and something goes wrong. Hopefully it doesn't and I get to stay here and talk to you lovely ladies! X

@KoolKoala07 thanks for the information. Sending lots of fingers crossed for you this time

Hi @DrRBannerx really hope this time goes well for you! must be scary

nice to have people to talk to

just on 5 weeks and I'm tired in the afternoons already, but I am cramping (like period pains) too which is making me tired. Google tells me this cramping is normal.

I'm super paranoid this baby won't stick but no idea why. I just think all the stats I've read etc.

Cramping is very normal and essential so you know everything's growing properly, with my only surviving child I had cramps so bad I ended up in hospital because I was convinced it wasn't normal, and she's perfect. Love people to speak to whilst were growing, here's for our summer 2018 babies!

Hi ladies, can I join you? EDD is the very start of June, but this is my 6th pregnancy after 5 miscarriages so I'm feeling very nervous! Would be nice to have some ladies to go through these next few weeks with until we see how it turns out.

DrRBannerx and KoolKoala07 sorry about your losses. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Hi all, can I jump on board?

I got a BFP yesterday. We were trying but I have very irregular cycles and this was our first attempt. It's great news but quite the shock.. I'm moving between feeling full of joy but then morning the loss of my adult life. No more city breaks, no glass of fizz on my birthday next week Blush I know we're overwhelmingly lucky but we're both feeling a sense of shock.

Thanks for asking the GP question. I thought there would be a formal GP apt where they take bloods to 'confirm'. I'm a little surprised my home test is being trusted!

June doesn't feel so far awaySmile

Sorry to all those that have had losses Flowers
Hoping for plenty of sticky ones for all of us. Smile
This pregnancy already feels so different compared to my (short) last one. Can't even really explain why. Feel more confident but don't want to get my hopes up too much.

Only 7 weeks. My symptoms are stronger, and I just have a good feeling about it. Silly really because there is no telling. And I find myself saying to Dh 'when baby is here' rather than last time I kept saying 'if everything works out with baby'
Im just trying to enjoy being pregnant while I am iyswim.

Yh I only ask as I feel the same way and I'm 6weeks tomorrow. I found myself all excited and my dp is Doom and Gloom Hmm. As long before we were together he experience a mc and I have a DD who is nearly 8 and I have not experienced a mc. So I'm trying to see it from his point of view and not get too excited.
However my symptoms are strong and I always to.

Hi all, lovely to hear how positive some of you are feeling! 😊 Pinecone are you getting over your sense of shock a little bit?

Mummylove was your scan today, how did it go? Anyone else planning on an early scan? DrR - no not taking anything extra, nothing came up on any tests. How are you feeling, how are your cramps?

I had a scan yesterday at 7 weeks, heartbeat was there and everything was the right size and shape. I am glad, but feels a lot harder now, the idea of losing it. Has been quite hard to cope at work with all the anxiety and uncertainty on top of preggo symptoms - don't know if anyone else has found this?

Hi all, I'd like to join in too please! Got a bfp yesterday and tested again today to make sure (I'm so paranoid I've now done 5 tests!) AF was due yesterday so I think it makes me 4 weeks as I have a 28 day cycle? I've made a doc appointment for Monday just to be sure as I'm so new to this I don't really know what I'm doing-we we're only TTC for 1 month and I was expecting it to take so much longer.

I've started feeling quite dizzy today-is that normal? I'm going away with work for 4 days in early November (long haul flight) which is making me slightly nervous now.
